TOOL SUMMER TOUR
I'm sure many of you have heard of an upcoming summer tour. Although I can't announce any specific dates yet (as the bulk of the dates haven't been confirmed), once they are finalized and official, we'll be sure to announce them on the site. So... be on the lookout for these dates to be posted soon, and get ready for live Tool this summer. (Now I understand what that elemental was referring to in the February newsletter)

Haha, the economy may be in the shitter, but at least there's some killer shows this summer by the looks of it.

According to The Pulse of Radio, TOOL frontman Maynard James Keenan told RollingStone.com on Thursday (June 10) that the band is "quietly working" on a new album that will be released "when it's ready." Asked if the group might possibly test out some new songs on the road this summer, Keenan said, "If it comes together, yeah, you'll hear some new stuff. If it's not ready, you won't." The band's summer trek kicks off on June 19 in New Orleans.
Keenan hinted that the tour might include some new visuals, although he also joked, "Maybe I'll just come out in my birthday suit. A 46-year-old naked dude running around onstage. Let's see how that goes over."
The singer, who's been working with side band PUSCIFER and tending to his vineyards for the last couple of years, also said that a fourth album from his other act, A PERFECT CIRCLE, is in the early stages, explaining, "We've got some riffs and some music. It's just basically playing it over and over again while driving and waiting for things to fall into place."
TOOL's last album was 2006's "10,000 Days", while A PERFECT CIRCLE issued "Emotive" in 2004.

"When it's ready" - Sounds like Maynard's been hanging out with Axl, lol.

A PERFECT CIRCLE Is Coming Around Again - June 18, 2010
According to The Pulse of Radio, A PERFECT CIRCLE, the band featuring TOOL's Maynard James Keenan on vocals and Billy Howerdel on guitar, seems like it's definitely coming back to life again after a six-year hiatus. Howerdel's band ASHES DIVIDE performed at Hollywood's Viper Room on Wednesday night (June 16), where Howerdel told the Antiquiet that a full album and tour were possible for A PERFECT CIRCLE, and that the band was working on "something" that should be out later this year.
Keenan hinted to The Pulse of Radio a while back that A PERFECT CIRCLE might release new music, although not necessarily an entire album. "I doubt if we'll do any touring or, you know, do a full album," he said. "We might do some one-off shows here and there if the timing's right and it seems like a good vibe and a smart thing to do. But most likely we'll just kind of concentrate on, you know, one or two songs at a time, rather than investing all the time and money and effort into making those plastic discs that no one cares about anymore."
Keenan did make a surprise appearance during ASHES DIVIDE's show, while he and Howerdel also performed together on Monday night (June 14), doing a cover of QUEEN's "Bohemian Rhapsody" (see video below) at the E3 video game convention in Los Angeles.
TOOL will begin a North American tour on July 16 in Las Vegas and is also said to be working on its next album.
