I recommend this one. Yes it's about rowing, but you'll also get a good glimpse into the life of Depression era America.

I just got audible and listening to Michelle Obama - Becoming. It's great, but also sad thinking about how we replaced such a brilliant thoughtful couple with the current shitshow.
I hear Melania's thinking about joining Scientology for the freedom it offers in comparison to her current marriage.

Listened to 'Last Days of August' on audible because it was free, with no idea what it was about. Turns out it's about the suicide of porn star August Ames - sad but interesting.

Catch and Kill on audible. Compelling and sickening.

Found a first edition of Costain's first book in his series on the Plantagenets, The Conquerors. I bought and read the four volume series back in the 90s, but those are newer editions. This one has the dust jacket intact. I'm pumped! The series is essentially a history of England from the Norman conquest through the War of the Roses. Looking forward to reading it, again.

Started re-reading "The Devil's Adjuntant- Joachim Peiper, Panzer Leader" by Micheal Reynolds. This was based on his dissertation which primarily describes the 6th Panzer Army's movements in the northern flank of the Battle of the Bulge during Dec., 1944. While, the book paints a, somewhat, sympathetic picture, the man was a beast, and 30 years, later, old French partisans gave him his due.

Finding it hard to read despite extra time. Have audible but find it hard to stay concentrated - but really like Pete Strzok's book about the Russia investigation. Cuts through the noise and BS, explains the role of the Steele dossier (not much and not a dossier) but also that Graham asked McCain to pass it to Comey. Also that it was Papadopolous who really got the investigation started.

Finished this today - it's outrageous how people have been treated by Trump. What being publically bullied by the president (for doing your job) does to people's lives. This country can't be rid of him quickly enough.

Got a first edition of Walter Millis' Road To War; AMERICA 1914-1917. It's a revisionist history published in 1935 that was widely read, and was very influential in the America First isolationist movement prior to the US involvement in WW 2. I haven got into it, yet, but it should be fun.
