Curling may look boring and idiotic but it is a great game to play. I played it in highschool and for almost 4 yrs after. You have one show that is flat and no treads and one that grips the ice so you can ppush yourself and slide..slip show is called a 'slider' how clever huh? lol..the ice curling is played on is specialized as well..it looks flat and smooth but when you are on it, it is completely covered with small raised bumps... pea sized but a bit more squished down..this allows the rock to slide better..the object of sweeping is the harder you sweep the ice it cause friction and melts it so very little but encourgaes the rock to travel faster..less sweeping, a slower rock..the object is to knock out your opponents rock from the circle..closest to the pin (the centre) is how the scoring is done. The handle of the rock and the way you throw it, with a twist or a turn, allows the rock to curl(turn, spin) down the ice and arcs and curves to aim for and knock out your opponents rocks..the guy standing behind the score circle is called a skip..sort of like when you are playing pool with someone and you show them how or where to hit a ball or bank shot..he is directing the suggested curl of the rock to the person throwing it. all that is in my limited laymans knowledge..it is a fun game to play, honest ;)

Your thick Canadian accent made this nearly impossible to understand...
