"Zoolander" Sequel Coming Together
Deadline Hollywood reports that Paramount Pictures and Ben Stiller are re-teaming for a sequel to the 2001 cult comedy smash "Zoolander".
Actor-turned-writer Justin Theroux, who penned "Tropic Thunder" and "Iron Man 2", will co-write the script with Stiller and potentially direct the follow-up.
The hope is Owen Wilson will return but nothing is set, though Jonah Hill ("Superbad," "Get Him to the Greek") is apparently in negotiations to play the villain.

Ben Stiller has confirmed last week's reports that he's working on a "Zoolander" sequel. Speaking with MTV News, the actor in fact let slip some potential plot details as well with the action set ten years after the original.
As a result "Derek & Hansel are literally forgotten. Nobody even knows who they are, so they have to re-invent themselves". At present he is "in the process of getting a script written. It's in the early stages, but it's gonna happen".
He also hopes to bring back the original's poodle-haired villain Mugatu (Will Ferrell), saying that "if Will says yes, he definitely has to be a part of it. To me, Mugatu is one of the classic screen villains of all time."

This and the Anchorman follow up are dead.
Wonder why they couldn't get the Anchorman thing going? The first one was a success, and many of the actors were willing to come back and take a pay cut to make it.
"It was like I was in high school again, but fatter."
