My Platoon has been dominating the football tournaments we have at my site. We've been the FOB champions 3 out of the past 4 months with 1 2nd place. Football is a pretty serious thing, so naturally it gets heated. We blow through the first team tonight, wasn't even a contest. for the 2nd game tonight, we play our rivals - a Ranger Battalion. So we are really sweeping the floor with them, which is quite unusual, but when you're on, you're on. So they're down by like 3 touchdowns and go for a hail marry, well they catch it and my Soldier pushes their guy out of bounds before he crosses the end zone. Since we were playing indoors, he went head first into a table. Shit happens right? So this guy gets up and starts strangling my guy. Now I may be a worthless, low life piece of shit, but I would take a bullet for anyone of my men. So I sprint over there yelling break it up! Next thing I know 25 Rangers are on top me, throwing punches and kneeing me in my legs pushing me into a corner. The rest of my Platoon comes running over and jumps in and all hell broke loose. Luckily no one got too beat up. I just have some nice lumps and bruises, but for a second there, looking at a mob of 35 rangers, I thought I was fucked. We ended up whooping their asses and winning the final game for another championship. What else can you expect though with 2000 guys in a combat zone and like 20 females in the entire place. What doesn't kill you makes you stronger or so they say.

Boys will be boys. I remember someone wrote in the head in Willow Grove Pa. Naval Station...The Navy were men are men and so are the women. It was there for a couple of weeks before being removed. Some funny stuff. Live hard play hard mentality in the combat zone.
