If cousin it comes over w/ the merger, he'll talk ya up on horse racing.
I do go to the track with my 93 year old grandfather on occasion.
Sister burn the temple
And stand beneath the moon
The sound of the ocean is dead
It's just the echo of the blood in your head

tap, what a sad article. I do have trouble as well with the dangers of a lot of horse sports. my family on both sides have been into horses for years and there is abuses for sure. the race industry uses them before their knees are fully developed, and after a few years unless they are stellar animals they are discarded like yesterdays news. lots of rescue groups but still far too many horses are not cared for properly.
in the world of show jumping, which is also a sport I love the horses that are at the top of their game, worth hundreds of thousands of dollars are living on pain killers and injections sometimes just to do their job. these jumps can be almost 6 feet high and wide. hard enough to jump one let alone a full course

Yes, that was sad - Newbury's a famous racecourse quite close to where I grew up, been past it many times but never inside. Only time I have been to a racecourse was a few years back at Towcester. They have a famous (in the UK) race meet on Boxing Day (Dec 26th) which we went to, close to my sister's house.

It was fun though very cold so we didn't stay that long.
