New Fortus interview. His first interview where he gives you a peak behind the curtain of CD and it reinforces Tommy's comments in 2009. The wait for this album was completely ridiculous and mostly the label's fault.

ALL of his parts were recorded in less than a week. He says he joined at "the end" of recording which was late 2001. Yikes. When these guys consider 2001 "the end" it shows how no one gave the tiniest of shits after that and further recording was just adding layers of noise to try and appease the record company.

 

90% of Axl's vocals were recorded in days.....backing up the feelings of those who heard the demos and knew little effort was put into them.

 

Its a damn shame how this turned out. I always thought he had ambition back then and just gave up. Looks to be the case. Also help explains why he morphed it into a nostalgia act.

Oh and I will always say all those " ahhhhhhhh ahhhhhhh ahhhhhhhhhh"s throughout Riad were scratch vocals/place holders that he never went back to.  Now that we know he spent a week on vocals I REALLY believe that to be the case.

 

I also bet the last vocals worked on during that week were Maddy and The Blues. Or the first. He's either warming up or exhausted.

I have a few friends at Live Nation, AEG & Ticketmaster. I know from the conversations I've had, this is definitely happening. As absurd as it sounds, the biggest hold up right now is whether they are doing Coachella or not. If they do Coachella, and as of now they are, they can't announce the tour until January. LN/Ticketmaster, does not want GNR to do Coachella, so they can announce earlier. but GNR does.
As of now there is 25 dates.

Coachella really needs to happen. Or Lolla. I get why some don't want them doing US festivals but at this point I don't see the harm in it. I've seen people say these festival crowds will hate them. Really? Every hipster at the event has Jungle, SCOM, PC, and NR on their ipods or cell phones. 

 

Soundgarden headlined Lolla alongside Lady GaGa. It was aimed at people listening to Black Hole Sun, not some loony hardcore such as myself listening to deep cuts and b sides.

 

The reunion isn't going to be marketed towards us forum junkies. We will simply be along for the ride.

Yes it is. The people saying they don't want THAT band to reunite and would prefer GNR 3.0 to reboot and play Jungle are complete lunatics or merely trolling. 

 

The latest articles about this stuff are ludicrous. We joked about them reading forums for their articles but its not a joke anymore. That is literally all they are doing. Today's alternativenation "article" was pathetic. It just copied a couple forum posts. I'm not paying attention to any news coming out unless its a major media outlet like RS, CR,etc. or actual info from Axl, Slash, or management. Its turned into a circle jerk of nothingness. If GNR had proper management they would end this cycle with some sort of announcement. 

 

All these so called "rumors" of Euro festivals aren't rumors. Its fanboy wishes and caviar dreams for what they want and these small sites are regurgitating it as fact. Even obscure festivals are entering the mix which is absurd.  A reunion is going to kick off here and IF it starts in Europe it will be Download festival, which isn't even in play now.

Well, we haven't heard from Axl this year so it's hard to say. He might have spent this year in the studio. We know he's a perfectionist.

 

Yeah Axl's a perfectionist. The proof is how during the 11 year span of CD, he spent 5 or 6 days on vocals.

I noticed that with all these stupid blogs and sites I've never heard of, they seem to just be rehashing forum speculation. Even more established sites kind of dance along the cusp of doing the same thing to be honest. So it's best to wait for something more definitive from a legit source. I'm not too worried at this point. The silence is all I need to confirm that something is in the works at the very least.

Yeah I believe something sweet is on the horizon as well. I just think these sites have went past the point of absurdity. I understand they want traffic but the least they could do is stop posting things they are seeing posted by random people on the forums.

 

Random forum loon: I really hope GNR headline Glastonbury. It would be great!

I now think this "hybrid" thing that's gaining steam was simply lifted from mygnr and turned into "news". The term hybrid was first used by wasted over at mygnr, everyone started talking about it for weeks, and then it just shows up in various articles. 

 

Which takes us back to square one.

 

It is funny how Slash opens his mouth, says two sentences, and fans start posting tour itineraries, dream set lists, and which lineup will be showing up.

 

Having said that, there has been some actual signs(car wash story, Slash changing schedule, band member departures,etc.) but the rest is just background noise.
