Now it can be told. Four months after actually doing the deed, Derek Jeter is finally admitting that he was able to make a clean getaway with the piece of old Yankee Stadium that he cherished the most. His target, as reported by Harvey Araton of the New York Times? That would be the "I want to thank the Good Lord for making me a Yankee" sign that hung in the clubhouse tunnel. For years, the Joe DiMaggio quote reminded each pinstriped one of their good fortune on a daily basis— cranky fans, pesky media and dictatorial owner aside, of course. Now it'll provide this generation's Greatest Yankee constant inspiration, though Jeter isn't saying where the sign is currently located. Perhaps his current hesitancy or secrecy back in September had something to do with not being wanted to be hauled away with 18 other souvenir hunters? Indeed, the dismantling of Yankee Stadium is going to be followed by a mega-memorabilia sale and there's no doubt that the Yankee Clipper's sign would have fetched a pretty penny. But let's be serious — who's going to be the one to ask Jeter to return it? Looks like the Yankees will just have to live off sales of the sign's $9.99 replicas.

Well according to many, A-Rod's been stealing around 250,000,000 dollars since playing for the Yanks......He's a great ball player but sucks in the clutch.

I like that he stole it, because it means he's really a fan, too. At the same time...give it back. Put it in the new stadium.

And stand beneath the moon
The sound of the ocean is dead
It's just the echo of the blood in your head

Jeter is the Captain! He won't be forced to do anything. I'm sure he'll either give it to Big George, give it to the museum or just be allowed to keep it. He is a all out Yankee great. Plays above his grade and hurt as well. You are not a baseball fan if you wouldn't want Jeter on your club. I think he'd rather retire than play elsewhere even at his age. I do believe he is still the highest paid Yankee @ 22million per year. I heard that there is an agreement with Big George that he is to be the highest paid player until his level of play declines. I'm sure Big George has let his sons know that. It may not even be in cash...Compensation could be anything really. This has never been made public. Here are just some of Jeter's stats... He has won the American League Rookie of the Year Award, a Silver Slugger Award, and three Gold Glove Awards. In 2000, he became the only player to win both the All-Star Game MVP Award and the World Series MVP Award in the same year. His .317 career batting average through the 2007 season ranks him with the 5th-highest lifetime batting average of all active baseball players. He has been in the top seven in the American League in both hits and runs scored for nine of the past ten years. During the 2000s he ranks second in the major leagues in hits (1,504), fourth in runs (857), and tied for seventh in batting average (.317) (stats accurate as of July 28, 2007). Post Season: As of 2006, Jeter has a career .314 postseason batting average with 17 home runs and 48 RBIs as well as reaching base in 105 of 119 postseason games. The Yankees have been to the playoffs every year since Jeter joined the team except for 2008. He has a Major League Baseball record 150 career postseason hits, and also holds records for most postseason singles (108), at-bats (478), runs scored (85) and strikeouts (92) Mr. November: "That is fair, down the right field line. Giambi on his way to third, and they're gonna wave him around! The throw misses the cutoff man—shovel to the plate! Out at the plate! Derek Jeter with one of the most unbelievable plays you will ever see by a shortstop! After the September 11th terrorist attacks, the baseball season was put on hold. Because of this, the playoffs started later, and Game 4 of the 2001 World Series was played on October 31. The game went into the tenth inning tied at 3–3. At midnight, the scoreboard in center field read "Attention Fans, Welcome to NOVEMBER BASEBALL." This was the first time that any non-exhibition baseball game had been played in the month of November. Moments after this message was displayed on the board, Jeter sent a 3–2 pitch from Byung-Hyun Kim over the right field stands. A fan in the stands held up a sign with the words "Mr. November." Michael Kay, who called the walkoff home run, called Jeter by this name, referencing the sign Just one thing...Unless your a hot Chick or a sick kid don't bother to ask for an autograph....Mr. November has a big ego. Like most pro's today even if they suck.

I've met A-rod a couple times down here. A first rate asshole. His wife/ex-wife was really nice though, too good to be with his stupid ass.

It's no exaggeration, that's for sure. Just a total loser.
