I enjoyed watching E.T. again last night. I can't believe that movie is so old! The classic movie channel is doing all Spielberg movies this week during prime time.

I started the evening watching "Contagion"....after an hour I had to turn it off. God, that movie sucked. Bad acting, couldn't keep my attention at all. Then I moved on to "50/50"...thank god for that movie. Now, I may be impartial because I do love me Joseph Gordon-Levitt...man I wish he was my boyfriend...I digress. I liked this movie. And any movie that has Pearl Jam in it's soundtrack is more than ok w/me. Anywho, I liked Seth Rogan as well in this flick although he wasn't center stage, but he was just enough. And that is my take.

Howl

Pretty solid docu-drama with James Franco portraying American poet Allen Ginsberg whose poem of the same title underwent a 1955 obscenity trial in San Francisco where his publisher faced some pretty stiff jail time, and also rather exquisitely serves to deflate the notion of America being the ultimate bastion of freedom of speech Flagg loves to spout.

"Howl" is a pretty awesome piece (poem...haven't seen the flick). I took a half course in Beat Poetry during college, which was really cool. We staged a reading and pass around jugs (not bottles...big gallon jugs) of wine. The kind of shit you can't get away with anymore because some asshat worries about liability in our uberlitigious society.

It's just the echo of the blood in your head

I liked it, but if you are too hyped for it you may be disappointed.

Moneyball - pretty ho-hum; Jonah Hill is pretty cool though.

It was "eh." Seemed like a big lead up to a whole lotta nuthin'. Cinematic blue balls if I may...

Don't get me wrong, I got it and it was good. But there was so much more they could have done with that amazing cast and storyline IMO.

Watched "A Better Life" tonight. I of course loved Demian Bichir in "Weeds" & I loved him in this movie. He's nominated for an Oscar. His facial expressions alone should win an Oscar, they make me tear up. I'm sure Clooney's got it tied up though. I haven't seen that movie yet though so I'm basing my opinion on only seeing one movie of all the ones for Best Actor.

Tucker & Dale vs Evil (Might be "Dale & Tucker....)

Very funny take on an old horror genre. Looks at it as "What if that creepy hillbilly is just misunderstood". Total comedy at heart but some great kill scenes none the less.
