Not bad, but he vastly oversimplifies the past as "things we've overcome", as if all the examples he mentions weren't serious, harmful actions.  This, presumably, is so that he can lambaste the tribal politics of the last 50 years are the fault of entitlements (hilarious).  About the only thing he did right was to eventually note that Trump's voters are, in fact, white tribalists (not all of course, but if the tribal label applies, it should apply there as well).  I give him credit for noting that important piece, but it doesn't overcome the whitewashing of our past and the ridiculous notion that our ethnic trouble are rooted in entitlements.

 

Also, he teaches classics.  So, first, STFU.  Then, second, I want Flagg to come in here and diss him for teaching something worthless.

^^^ I'm not familiar with his writings, but I think he is spot on with this: This is the abyss of hate versus hate, tribe versus tribe. This is a moment when we can look at ourselves in the mirror of social media and see what we have become. Liberal democracy is being dismantled before our eyes — by all of us. This process is greater than one president. It is bottom-up as well as top-down.
