I have been in unbelievable pain in my left jaw, front teeth and left temple since getting a Novocaine shot yesterday for a basic dental procedure (filling came out.) Once the numbness wore off I was initially fine, but starting last night I get pain in waves. From a 4 to a 9.5 at any given time. It's really unreal how much it hurts. I called the dentist this morning and they said I should not be feeling pain like that (yea no shit) and to call them Monday if it was still hurting. They tried to say it was probably just sore from the shot. I've had shots, and it's been a little tender, but never anything like this. Every time it goes away and I think I'm getting relief it comes back. Hurts to eat, drink, even breath really with my mouth open. I don't know if he hit a nerve or what. Heat does nothing, ice does nothing, tylenol and asprin do nothing. sucks ass.
This should be in The Dentist thread
I was in a similar boat earlier this week myself. I've had a cracked tooth for years that the dentist has left alone because it wasn't razor sharp and the nerve wasn't exposed, but holy fawking shit did it feel exposed earlier this week. I slapped some Sensodyne on the sucker for a few hours though and it seemed to subside. Here's hoping the pain doesn't return.

I can't keep my threads straight lately...heh heh.
You may be delaying the inevitable there my friend. I'm sure you could find a good socialist dentist up there to patch you up.
Today it's maxing out around a 5-6. For the most part it's a dull pain which is good. Last night it got so bad and I called a buddy of mine to see if he'd give me some of his pain pills from his recent surgery. I kinda felt scummy for doing that, but I couldn't take it anymore. He gave two pills to my wife for me though which was nice. I still didn't take them yet and if it continues to ease down, then I won't at all. Fuckin' dentist!

Why look for a job? It'll probably be raining anyway and you can sit around her and post all day instead.
Ha, you can be my role model.
And....congrats Iron man! Time to join the real world, huh?
Thanks! It seems so yes. I don't know what horrors await out there.... At least I have no debts to pay off since we get our tuition fees paid for us in Scotland.

Seriously? Oh you lucky fuck. The real world is simply paying bills, trying to pay the rent, living paycheck to paycheck....at least that's my life. Sounds fun, eh???/Ha, you can be my role model.
