My husband just said, "That sounds horrible. He sounds like a rank amateur!" His face was literally contorted like it was causing him pain. He is a KISS purist.

To which I replied, "He always sounds like that, and that's why I like him."

This isn't Skid Row. Bach is good enough on vocals not to offend my Rush-loving ears. He does look like a dick should fly into his mouth at any moment, though. I really like to listen to it for Jake E. Lee sounding nothing like the Ozzy days.

I used to see this guy play around San Antonio back in the 90s. Ian Moore. He was like SRV but with some Motown thrown in. In this video shot Sunday night that I grabbed from Periscope there are three tunes.

0:00 Me and My Guitar (blues cover)

6:50 Blue Sky (one of his songs - and one of his best)

and the he segues into...

13:00 Purple Rain

He is an incredible talent. Too bad he didn't get to the next rung.

Why do you read that kind of crap, Art? Seriously, I don't get it.

I was just about to ask you about this, but it looks like you came back and edited it. Sounds great so far.

You're right, Art. That guy is very talented. Reminds me of Greg Allman and Chris Robinson to a lesser extent. Very comfortable and in the groove on the first song. His original is also good. The cover is good on the guitar; I've never cared for the vocals on the original, so the same is true on this. The only thing I don't like about the video are the falsetto parts which doesn't negate from my overall positive opinion of him because I hate all falsetto.

This is his debut cd, it is great:

Others of note, live EP from above debut:

Second CD:

Subsequent cds have him branching out and getting alternative, folky, or experimental.

That Ian Moore guy looks like he his playing a Fender Stratocaster. I'm so glad because a lot of times these bluesy guys opt for the Telecaster which sounds like a piece of shit that came out of a Cracker Jack box.

He seems to favor strats with a tele neck. Best of both worlds!

Now I don't like this one as much. He sounds faggy to me. It's weird, maybe it's because it's too smooth and produced. He sounds like one of those white people who try to sound black on the ends of certain words in the way that black people always ruin the national anthem, if you know what I mean.  He sounds more authentic live. Plus, the tone on his guitar is too bright - not like the live stuff.

Is there really an advantage to the Telecaster neck?

This one is better. Has that 90's Big Head Todd vibe going. He phrases some of his words like Stevie Wonder, but it sounds good.
