I just saw Culture Club tonight. Fantastic show, much more than I had anticipated.

My aunt and uncle saw CC earlier this year or late last year in Oakland. I think they were 3rd-4th row. Blew em away. THey asked me to go(I took em to see Bucket in 2011) but I'm not blowing my ears out on Karma Chameleon.

 

I'm considering going to the Temple of the Dog reunion in November since I missed out on GNR during this 3 month health scare. That one is likely once in a lifetime as SG and PJ will be busy after that mini tour happens.

I'm seeing Axl/DC in Columbus Sunday.  I saw them with Brian last year in NYC, so that'll be a hard show to top.

Just saw what is presumably my last Sabbath show ever, last night.  They played great.  Better than three years ago, when they were touring their latest album, so they cut the new stuff and stuck to the old.  Good show.

 

And, as I tell my buddy who goes to lots of shows with me, just ONCE I'd like to see one of my students there, to redeem my faith in the youth of today.  Well, last night it finally happened.  I'm walking back from the pisser, can't see shit can can't find my buddy.  And then I hear someone yell "Professor!"  We had a quick chat and I left renewed in my hopes.

Concert was pretty good.  Axl's vocals were turned down in the mix, don't know if that intentional to give Angus the spotlight or just a mistake.  What was funny, was all the equipment boxes had the GN'R logo on it, so I guess they're using Guns' tour equipment to wrap this up.

Major act equipment, cuts costs...makes sense to me.  Glad it was a good show.

Got great seats to see Loretta Lynn at the end of the month. At nearly 85, she still brings it, so I'm hoping for a good show.

Wow, didn't know she was still out there.  My dad took me to see her when I was a kid, at a place called the Little Nashville Opry (Nashville Indiana, mind you, not Tennessee).  It was a small venue...she just took requests the whole night.
