DALLAS (AP)—Troy Aikman’s passing days didn’t end when he retired from the Dallas Cowboys.
The Hall of Fame quarterback says he’s passed his two final college courses and will graduate in June from UCLA—20 years after he left for the NFL.
The Dallas Morning News reported Tuesday that Aikman is getting a bachelor’s degree in sociology and will participate in UCLA’s graduation ceremonies.
The 42-year-old Fox Sports broadcaster says he’s “finally taking care of unfinished business.”
Aikman says he promised his mother, when he left school just two courses shy of a degree, that he would return and finish.
Aikman’s final two courses included a class on race and ethnicity, and another on aging.
He earned an “A” for both.

Good for him. He probably doesn't need the cash but like many ex-athletes if they can eliminate some of the agents or financial adviser's so his payouts are less which means mo money in his pocket. It's also a finish what you started thing as well for some of these guys. They have done everything else career wise and want the degree as well.
There is another thing here to think about. The college he's going to is happy to have these players come to their school for the publicity. He's not paying a damn thing as far as tuition and may possibly get some admin seat where he can also be compensated.
You never ask a navy man if he'll have another drink, because it's nobody's goddamned business how much he's had already.
