A Message from Anonymous - 01/29/2011Hello, world.

You are now breathing manually.

Overthe last few weeks, North Africans have expressed an ardent desire forliberty, democracy, and justice for both themselves, and for the world. While most in the West responded with a mild interest and cynicism forwhich our culture has become rightly reviled, Anonymous responded withaction. Beginning with Tunisia and continuing on to Egypt, thousands ofworld citizens have dedicated their lives to securing the liberty ofothers, providing tools, expertise, and long-sought encouragement tothose who have already earned their rights by virtue of fighting forthem.

When Tunisians bristled in indignation at the chains thathave bound them for far too long, the world was silent. Anonymous wasnot; and thus the online venues of state propaganda were taken down andin some cases replaced with our own clear message that those who wantour help will get it.

When protests erupted upon the occasion ofone fruit vendor's bravery, the media ignored it. Anonymous did not,and thus Tunisians were provided with the Guide to Protecting the NorthAfrican Revolutions.

When Wikileaks confirmed the cruelty andcorruption of the Ben Ali regime, Western governments did nothing.Anonymous organized hundreds of Tunisians directly and thousands moreindirectly.

It was the Tunisian people themselves that overcamethe tyranny to which they had been subjected. They did so in thecontext of the digital reformation, with unprecedented assistanceprovided over a mere few weeks. Others will follow. Some have alreadybegun.

...

That the Egyptian regime has reacted to theyearning of its citizens by shutting down the nation's communicationsis the smoking gun that should tell the world that communications arethe key to liberty. That we live in the communications age should, andhas been, of great alarm to all who love their power more than theirpeople, or who consider themselves to be the only ones capable ofgoverning the world around them. That they have failed to provide anyreal security should remind all concerned that such people are not onlyunnecessary to true security, but a perpetual threat to same.

Anonymousis a machine that harnesses the talent that other, lesser institutionsoften fail to acknowledge or incorporate. Man is a creature that buildsinstitutions and thereafter loses his grip on them. Anonymous curesinstitutions that are dying and destroys institutions that ought tohave died long ago.

All significant human activity is the resultof human collaboration - including this very press release. And themeans by which humans may collaborate has exploded - not expanded, notincreased, but exploded - in such a way as to allow any man on earth totalk and work with any other man.

Such issues will be exploredsoon enough. In the meantime, we demand that all normal communicationsbe restored to the people of Egypt by January 29th, 12:00 midnight,Eastern Standard Time. That we have occasion to make such a demand inthe first place should be enough to convince all good men that theworld needs revolution. That we have made it in full view of all menshould be enough to convince them that we now have the means to back itup - not just against this regime, but against any and all parties thatcontinue to prop it up even after it has conceded that the truth is itsenemy.

We are Anonymous.
We are Legion.
We do not Forgive.
We do not Forget.

What a crock of shit. A bunch of cowards using technology from thousands of miles away under the protection of anonymity comparing themselves as equal partners in regime change.

WTF!!?!! The Anon statement didn't compare themselves to the people on the ground, it merely stated ”When Tunisians bristled in indignation at the chains that have bound them for far too long, the world was silent. Anonymous was not; and thus the online venues of state propaganda were taken down and in some cases replaced with our own clear message that those who want our help will get it.” How in the fuck did you come up with the “equal partners” shit???

The people on the ground, risking their lives and well being are the ones who should be given praise if anyone out of this.

I couldn't agree more. And they were given praise, and the assistance of Anon is what crippled Egyptian internet infrastructure when the gov pulled the plug on the internet.

Not the 30 year old losers living on government assistance who congratulate one another on their self assessed high Iqs.

Shows what you know. Anon is a collective of all ages...in fact it was a 16 year old girl that gained access to Greg Hoglund's email which led eventually to root access to HBGary last week- that attack was very sophisticated, and it resulted in over76000 emails, the deletion of backup systems, and defacing HBGary's site with lulz aplenty.

What's funny is I read that about five of these fuckers got busted in England last week. I haven't paid much attention to it, but my guess is they won't be so tough when standing in front of a judge.

Those were a bunch amateurs firing lazers without any protection;hoping that the shear volume of the collective would prevent exposure??? Whatever they were thinking, they were ignorant stoopid fucks for participating in a direct action without knowing what the fuck they were doing.

I find it a bit disturbing that governments would go after a handful amateurs that did little damage while totally ignoring a much more sophisticated attack that was launched against Wiki leaks last Nov. But, I suppose that is because it was those same gov that launched that attack.

And now, the shit is about to hit the fan.

Two weeks ago, a scumbag(Aaron Barr) from HBGary released to the Financial Times that he had infiltrated Anon and had the names of its hierarchy- what a fucking idiot, there is no hierarchy! Anyway, in retaliation, Anon launched a sophisticated attack on HBGary and its parent. The effort captured all emails and proprietary information from the corporations, vandalized the website of the parent corp, and led to the emails being leaked last week.

It would've stopped there, but the HBGary CEO and COO came on an Anon Chat and begged Anon to stop the attack and limit the damage by not releasing anymore emails. They were quite contrite on the chat, but then renegged and that resulted in the release of another 27000 emails of the CEO that were very damaging.
The chat log can be found here( penny-the COO, and greg-the CEO sign in at 04:00). Its some funny shit.
http://pastebin.com/x69Akp5L

And this is where the shit hits the fan.

Another 27000 emails of greg were released last week, and they contained some very disturbing information.

A very prominent Washington law firm(Hunton and Williams)contracted HBGary on behalf of US Bank and the US Chamber of Commerce. This firm wanted to, and HBGary agreed to, conduct anon operation to discredit prominent journalists, activist organizations, and labor unions. US Bank was pissed that Wiki leaks is about to release some very damaging(and potentially criminal) documents; The Chamber of Commerce was pissed that unions supported Obama to get the health care bill passed. And they both wanted to go after journalists that supported their adversaries(read the links at the bottom). They were about to engage in some nasty shit that was probably felonious.

One of the fucked up things that the emails have revealed is that is was the Dept. of Justice that put Hunton and Williams in contact with HBGary. HBG has long ties to federal agancies including Dept. of Defence, NSA, CIA, DOJ, and some of the largest corporations in the country.

Something else that came out of the data dump is that HBGary had the code for STUXTNET- the virus that brought down the Iranian nuclear complexes last year. Anon release the STUXTNET virus today, but it is without the enabling key.

I have more to say, but I've got a coding error that I can't find in the rest of the post. I'll see if I can figure out what the fuck it is.

Even more disturbing(fucking frightening!) is this email:

(I've redacted everything but the description but everything else readily available in the net)

It appears that the coding error is in an email that I was going to include. I'll transpose the relevant parts, manually.

Scary fucking shit!!!

Description: Magenta would be a new breed of windows based rootkit, which HBGary refers to as a multi-contex rootkit. Magenta is a 100% pure assembly language implemented rookit. The magenta rootkit body is injected into kernel memory via the DriverEntry() partial-load technique. Once loaded into kernel memory, Magenta would automatically identity an active process/thread context to inject itself into via an APC (Asynchronous Procedure Call). Once the APC fires in the new process, the body of the rootkit will be executed, Finally, At the completion of each APC activation, magenta will move itself to a new location in memory and automatically identify one of more new activation PROCESS/THREAD combinations to queue one or more additional activation APC's into.

When activated, the Magenta rootkit will be capable of searching for and executing imbedded command and control messages by finding them wherever they may exist in the physical memory on the compromised host- even if the host in question has full window firewalling enabled. The Magenta payoad will also contain imbedded capabilities for injecting these C&C payloads to be written to perform user-mode tasks on the compromised host.

THAT IS SOME SCARY FUCKING SHIT!

These fuckers were going after unions, journalists, and any orgs that didn't support their shit... and apparently with the support of the US Gov.
There are calls for congressional hearings, but I doubt that anything will be done.

Oh, BTW, HBGary is one of the top cyber security firms in the world... and look what a bunch of "30 year old losers living on government assistance" managed to accomplish. LULZ!!!! Probably, a billion dollar company will be, if not now, insolvent. I should add, FTR I don't condone, or participate in, any illegal activities; on the internet, or the real world. But, Anonymous has my moral support 100%.

His exile has nothing to do with me at this time, as there is no ban. Last I saw he was slumming it at some other gnr forum.

???

I made a few posts on another GnR forum back during the blow out in the GoM; most of the posters on that forum had totally fucked the science and bought into all that shit about methane volcanoes, great carverns of petroleum about to explode upon the Gulf shores, and the rsultant end of humanity. That is also about the time that I left City-Data; some mod there, threatened me with a suspension for calling someone a "scare monger". Seriously, that is all I wrote. So, I told him that since they encouraged wild speculation and fear mongering, I would no longer be a part of the discussion.

I have a bottle of unopened 50 year old rum. Does anyone know if you can still drink something like that without getting poisoned from it? I bought it on my first vacation out of the states and never got around to drinking it. The label art on the bottle is fantastic.

On a whiskey forum I used to post on, those were known as "dusty bottles". And, they were highly sought after, but the discussions were about red liquors.

#39265 CBS’s Logan suffered ‘brutal’ attack in Egypt

So sad, too bad, Lara. No one told her to go there. She knew the risks. And she should have known what Islam is all about. Now she knows. Or so we’d hope. But in the case of the media vis-a-vis Islam, that’s a hope that’s generally unanswered.

This never happened to her or any other mainstream media reporter when Mubarak was allowed to treat his country of savages in the only way they can be controlled.

Now that’s all gone. How fitting that Lara Logan was “liberated” by Muslims in Liberation Square while she was gushing over the other part of the “liberation.”
Hope you’re enjoying the revolution, Lara!

Anonymous issues a cease and desist to Westboro Baptist Church:

TO THE CONGREGANTS OF WESTBORO BAPTIST CHURCH:

We, the collective super-consciousness known as ANONYMOUS - the Voice of Free Speech & the Advocate of the People - have long heard you issue your venomous statements of hatred, and we have witnessed your flagrant and absurd displays of inimitable bigotry and intolerant fanaticism. We have always regarded you and your ilk as an assembly of graceless sociopaths and maniacal chauvinists & religious zealots, however benign, who act out for the sake of attention & in the name of religion.
Being such aggressive proponents for the Freedom of Speech & Freedom of Information as we are, we have hitherto allowed you to continue preaching your benighted gospel of hatred and your theatrical exhibitions of, not only your fascist views, but your utter lack of Christ-like attributes. You have condemned the men and women who serve, fight, and perish in the armed forces of your nation; you have prayed for and celebrated the deaths of young children, who are without fault; you have stood outside the United States National Holocaust Museum, condemning the men, women, and children who, despite their innocence, were annihilated by a tyrannical embodiment of fascism and unsubstantiated repugnance. Rather than allowing the deceased some degree of peace and respect, you instead choose to torment, harass, and assault those who grieve.
Your demonstrations and your unrelenting cascade of disparaging slurs, unfounded judgments, and prejudicial innuendos, which apparently apply to every individual numbered amongst the race of Man - except for yourselves - has frequently crossed the line which separates Freedom of Speech from deliberately utilizing the same tactics and methods of intimidation and mental & emotional abuse that have been previously exploited and employed by tyrants and dictators, fascists and terrorist organizations throughout history.

ANONYMOUS cannot abide this behavior any longer. The time for us to be idle spectators in your inhumane treatment of fellow Man has reached its apex, and we shall now be moved to action. Thus, we give you a warning: Cease & desist your protest campaign in the year 2011, return to your homes in Kansas, & close your public Web sites.
Should you ignore this warning, you will meet with the vicious retaliatory arm of ANONYMOUS: We will target your public Websites, and the propaganda & detestable doctrine that you promote will be eradicated; the damage incurred will be irreversible, and neither your institution nor your congregation will ever be able to fully recover. It is in your best interest to comply now, while the option to do so is still being offered, because we will not relent until you cease the conduction & promotion of all your bigoted operations & doctrines.

The warning has been given. What happens from here shall be determined by you.

WE ARE ANONYMOUS.
WE ARE LEGION.
WE DO NOT FORGIVE.
WE DO NOT FORGET.
EXPECT US.

#39443 Teabagging

Posted by cousin it on 20 February 2011 - 12:50 AM in News, Current Events, Politics

I'm starting a masters in the same field from Syracuse. I get 15 credits from my army training, so I only have five more classes to go. I'm glad it's easy for her. Sometimes I want to jump off a bridge after completing an assignment.

Is a thesis required, or do 30 hours get the degree? At my university, there are several masters programs that require less than two years, e,g: education, business, but afaik, the hard sciences require 30 hours + thesis. In my dept. I don't know anyone that has completed a masters program in less than 3 years; some 4 and longer. On the bright side though, those programs are a free ride... tuition waiver and and a stipend if you teach/TA a class.

#39444 Teabagging

Posted by cousin it on 20 February 2011 - 01:07 AM in News, Current Events, Politics

Women's studies programs include classes in administration, advocacy, anthropology, arts, counseling, education, history, humanities, international studies, law, library science, philosophy, psychology, public health, public policy, social work, and sociology. Those classes can help with jobs in education, health care, media, politics, social work, etc. Society is always flexing and changing and classes accredited 50 years ago can be of no value today and classes unaccredited 25 years ago can be come more value in today's workplace. Women's Studies and African-American studies are not give-away credits which you seem to be implying.

I didn't read back through the posts, so I will assume that Flagg indeed presented that argument. If so, I agree. They are a drain on the limited resources of universities... they are redundant and a waste of funds. Of all of the subjects that you listed, there are depts or colleges within the university system that cover all of those fields. Hell, I would throw on more in there- religious studies; give it to philosophy, or something.

At most, the operation will knock their servers off-line for a few days. I'd assume that it will be more than a ddos, but if they have the funds or the expertise, they will be back up after some upgrades. There is some disagreement over spending so much energy on such a small target. They are basically one family, and no one will change their minds. I'm thinking that the operation is attempt at garnering some positive publicity.

Hoemosexuality
IS A SIN
You will burn in hell
FAGGOTS

Sanctify yourselves, and be ye holy because I am the Lord your God. Keep my precepts, and do them. I am the Lord that sanctify you. He that curseth his father, or mother, dying let him die: he hath cursed his father, and mother, let his blood be upon him. If any man commit adultery with the wife of another, and defile his neighbour's wife, let them be put to death, both the adulterer and the adulteress. If a man lie with his stepmother, and discover the nakedness of his father, let them both be put to death: their blood be upon them. If any man lie with his daughter in law, let both die, because they have done a heinous crime: their blood be upon them. If any one lie with a man as with a woman, both have committed an abomination, let them be put to death: their blood be upon them. If any man after marrying the daughter, marry her mother, he hath done a heinous crime: he shall be burnt alive with them: neither shall so great an abomination remain in the midst of you. He that shall copulate with any beast or cattle, dying let him die, the beast also ye shall kill. -- Leviticus 20: 7-15 Fellow Christians! The bible tells us to kill homosexuals, and those who commit adultery and beastiality. Lets not let them get away with their sins!!!

It made for an epic thread.

An(other) Open Letter to Westboro Baptist Church

18th February 2011

An Open Letter From an Anonymii.

TO THE CONGREGANTS OF WESTBORO BAPTIST CHURCH

We know that YOU in fact posted the Open Letter supposedly from Anonymous.

We know that you thrive on attention.

We know that you are short of money.

We know that this is a trap.

We know how you work. You don't give a flying fart about what your God thinks. But you know that putting God and Fag in a sentence together is guaranteed to make someone angry. You push it. You really push it. But you stay within the law. And then when some poor fool snaps, you sue them for infringing upon your rights.

Some of Anonymous thinks you're the worlds greatest Trolls. This is bollocks. You're in it for the money.

No doubt some of us will fall for it. But know this: most of us don't give a damn. You are shamelessly riding on the /b/andwagon after Anonymous' recent mass media coverage in order to get more publicity and more idiots to sue.

Yarbles to you.

WE ARE ANONYMOUS.
WE ARE LEGION.
WE DO NOT FORGIVE.
WE DO NOT FORGET.
EXPECT US.

But we're not all idiot newfags.

Peace out /b/rothers.

and...

Dear Phred Phelps and WBC Phriends,
So we've been hearing a lot about some letter that we supposedly sent you this morning. Problem is,
we're a bit groggy and don't remember sending it. Our best guess is that you heard about us on that
newfangled TV of yours and thought we might be some good money for your little church.
You thought you could play with Anonymous. You observed our rising notoriety and thought you
would exploit our paradigm for your own gain. And then, you thought you could lure some idiots into a
honeypot for more IPs to sue.
This is not so foreign to us; as you may have heard, we trade in Lulz. You just do not have enough to
offer right now.
While Anonymous thanks you for your interest, and would certainly like to take a break and have some
fun with you guys, we have more pressing matters to deal with at the moment.
But, we will keep this application on file, and will certainly contact you if any openings become
available in future.
Next time, don't call us. We'll call you.
Additionally, as your "Press Release" failed to understand: When Anonymous says we support free
speech, we mean it. We count Beatrice Hall among our Anonymous forebears: "I disapprove of what
you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it."
Do some among our number hate you and your cynical exploitation of your human rights for monetary
gain? Of course. But the MoralFags are also the first to admit that they are, in fact, your rights to
exploit.
In closing, let us assure you: We are not BAWWWING sissies, nor are we afraid of your false god;
we're just really busy. Stay tuned, and we'll come back to play another day.
We promise.
To the Media: Just because it was posted on AnonNews doesn't mean every single Anon is in
agreement, in fact in this case it doesn't even mean a single Anon is in agreement. Next time, if you
could give us a few minutes to put all our paperwork in order, we'll be sure to let you know what we're
up to. (LOL)
To Anonymous: It's a trap. They've got their ports wide open to harvest IPs to sue. Don't DDoS, and
boycott Operation Westboro. If you really want to continue messing with them, just send them a few
male prostitutes and faxes of goatse. Nothing more.
(Note: This letter was written by more than 20 Anons, at the same time, and none of them were inbred
family members. Unlike that other, shitty "Press Release".)
We are Anonymous.
We are legion.
We do not forgive.
We do not forget.
Expect us.
