That was fun.

The Robots thing will be the most serious disruption ever. More than the Industrial and Internet revolutions combined. Once there is simply not enough work for people to do to earn a living we will have to rethink some things. Or there will be nasty consequences.

First, make lots of bartender robots.

Second, make robots that can turn trash into clean white sand.

Third, get a big fucking robot to spread sand across the lower 48.

Fourth, cut ag subsidies (cause you can't grow corn in sand) and allow the developing world to make our food.

Fifth, send robots to get the food.

Sixth, have chef robots.

I think that's a good start.

Industrial revolution was rather similar. Went from a society where 95% of labor was concentrated in farming to one where it was less than 5%. That's a lot of people needing a new living.

The major difference will be the skill level. Back then farmers could be trained rather easily for new professions. The future will demand a far higher skill set when all manual labor is occupied by robots. Large segments of our populations will simply not have the necessary ability to fill what will mainly be work demanding creative thought. We can't all be salesmen.

Will be mighty interesting to see how we solve it. Bread and circus on steroids? Police state? Population control?

Lots and lots of starving artists...or Skynet just makes the discussion moot.
