Heard this on Sirius last night:
Metal Hammer and the whole world of heavy metal is saddened to learn that Ronnie James Dio has been diagnosed with stomach cancer.
A statement from Ronnie’s wife Wendy reads: “Ronnie has been diagnosed with the early stages of stomach cancer. We are starting treatment immediately at the Mayo Clinic. After he kills this dragon, Ronnie will be back on stage, where he belongs, doing what he loves best, performing for his fans.
“Long live rock and roll, long live Ronnie James Dio.
“Thanks to all the friends and fans from all over the world that have sent well wishes. This has really helped to keep his spirit up.”
Our thoughts and well-wishes are with Ronnie and his friends and family and we wish him all of the best with his ongoing treatment.

You're going to hell for that, I'd like you to know. ^^
He has a deadly, painful cancer. If that doesn't describe Sharon Osbourne...
Sister burn the temple
And stand beneath the moon
The sound of the ocean is dead
It's just the echo of the blood in your head

In the same interview with Ozzy I referred to, He wished Ronnie well and said that he heard he was doing well and was going to be OK. When asked which Sabbath album was his favorite he jokingly said well it wasn't Heaven and Hell. He then wished everyone well. In regards to the lawsuit with Tony, he seemed really like whatever. He said we still talk and we have good days and the sometimes we argue. We're like brothers. He talks to Bill Ward and Geezer more often. Bill could care less about all the horseshit and Geezer is Geezer.....
You never ask a navy man if he'll have another drink, because it's nobody's goddamned business how much he's had already.

Today my heart is broken, Ronnie passed away at 7:45am 16th May.
Many, many friends and family were able to say their private good-byes
before he peacefully passed away. Ronnie knew how much he
was loved by all. We so appreciate the love and support that you have
all given us. Please give us a few days of privacy to deal with this
terrible loss. Please know he loved you all and his music will live on forever. Wendy
