No explanation in those clips - almost certainly it's one or two isolated anecdotes (probably nothing even to do with atheists, but rather companies/local governments doing some stupid PC bullshit), then exaggerated into a narrative of widespread action in the usual fashion of Fox News and the religious right, to rally the hate base against 'other'. I'm just happy knowing I'll most likely enjoy Christmas far more than those two charlatans.
