I need to buy a new digital camera today. Although I'd love a SLR, I probably need a point-and-shoot. I'm replacing a Panasonic Lumix, which I loved in the beginning, but it has since failed. Do you have a camera you like?

I like my Canon PowerShot SX110 IS. It takes great photos and videos plus it's easy to use.

Rather than rush your decision on such a high priced item, you could buy yourself some time to research if you bought a throw-away camera for whatever event coming up today. They do take great pictures and for under $20.00.

I have only bought two digital cams. the first one was about 400 bucks and worked great for years, when it finally broke the technology had gotten so much better the entry level cams were now only 100 bucks and way better with more memory and all that. I love my new one which is just a point and shoot it is a samsong L200 sometimes the pictures are so pretty it makes me want to buy a real good camera so I can really get into it.

Zim, I have a Panasonic Lumix, around $200. I just got it but so far I'm enjoying it.
How many times have I told you not to play with the dirty money??

A friend at work has a Slingbox. Says it works pretty good.
Why do you read that kind of crap, Art? Seriously, I don't get it.

It seems expensive as you still need a tivo or dvr with it. I just wondered how many channels you can actually access?

Mine's an HP. Got dropped in a Mexican pool and still works!
Sister burn the temple
And stand beneath the moon
The sound of the ocean is dead
It's just the echo of the blood in your head

The Slingbox allows you to access whatever is hooked to it over the internet. Be it a cable box or DVR. I think you can send commands to the thing it is hooked to so you can change channels and whatever. The video streams to you over the internet to whatever device you are using. I imagine you would get whatever cable channels you get through the cable box.

Finally got my iPad2 a couple of days ago, and it was worth the wait. It came on a grant, so thank you all for paying for it :D

Nope, but like my appletv a lot (I paid for it :) ). It only sends video in 720, but also connects wirelessly to computers, iphone, ipad, mobilem etc so can stream music through the receiver, look at photo albums on big screen as well as connect to netflix.
