Yes, the ending was certainly ambiguous, in regards to his love interest anyway. I prefer those types of ending.

I'm talking about the Bad Guy, he did a great job of it...."Wake up, time to die." Sound familiar? ^ Also Darrel Hannah and her Clown makeup....still doable in some sort of freakish way.

He is into overseas flicks and he's not a young bird anymore. i think he was filming something recently here in the states though?

Yeah because of the unicorn stuff. Supposedly Ford wanted to make sure the character was human...at least according to wiki which is always true.
