Y'all ever messed around on Ancestry? I tracked my heritage back 1000 years, but probably the thing that was most surprising was that my great grandfather was drafted in August of 1863. He was born in 1836 and survived the war. My grandpa was born in 1881. Fucking wild! He was alive when Lord Nelson's daughter was living!!!

 

No one in the family ever spoke of this, but they always reminded us Kirby Smith's gallant march to meet the Yankee.

 

Traced the family of my grandma to 16th Century Perthshire, and another to the 6th son of some earl (huey something) that forced King John to sign the Magna Carta.

 

I bet we're all related... just sayin
