Wow that's awesome, although a bummer about Plant.
Also thanks for posting that, now I know they are touring. I don't see any dates for Tampa yet, but I'm sure they'll be here. Hopefully in the winter.

Wasn't totally surprised about Plant - it was always going to need to be lucky ticketmaster clicking, and I'm sure scalpers got most of them. We weren't even thinking of seeing AIC until last week, so yeah that was pretty cool to find those tickets.

Saw them in May 91 before they exploded. Layne still had the dreads. Wasn't a long set(they were opening for Slayer, Anthrax, and Megadeth) but it was a killer performance. Grunge was gonna happen whether Cobain wrote Teen Spirit or not. MTV would have simply latched on to We Die Young, Man in the Box, or Soundgarden's Outshined.
I was one of those "No Layne=no AIC" people, but the new album wasn't too shabby. Love the title track.
Surprise, surprise, surprise!

I don't think MITB is that good a song either. Too plodding.
"plodding" - really? I don't ask for you to explain, because each to their own, but I don't find that song plodding or "meh" (D) at all.
I'll explain anyway Most AIC stuff is pretty slow but by Dirt they worked out how to make slow stuff sound like it had momentum/groove, kind of like early Sabbath did. MITB has a decent riffing, but doesn't quite hold together rhythm wise like Them Bones for example.
