By Courtney Hazlett The Scoop The weekend is expected to be a somber one for friends of Farrah Fawcett. Her longtime partner Ryan O’Neal told People magazine that Fawcett “stays in bed now,” and her treatment “has pretty much ended.” According to a friend of Fawcett’s, O’Neal’s interview also is a cue that it was acceptable to begin preparing for the inevitable. “When Ryan spoke out like that, it was like a sign that it was OK for the goodbyes to begin,” said the friend. “We’ve all wanted to remain positive for as long as possible.” According to the friend, Fawcett isn’t totally aware of how much the public cares about her. “She knows there’s tremendous support, but really right now is about being with her family and close friends.”

It is weird watching people that were big in our era pass. I remember growing up and watching my parent's reaction when somebody famous (from their era) died. There is something about it that just hits home I think. Slowly, you watch as you are one of the few left....how odd that must be.

I kind of find it disgusting that Ryan did the documentary/interview for NBC already. I mean the poor woman still is on this earth and they are yapping on about her like she already has passed. I mean, I understand it's inevitable at this point but really....

Maybe that's what she wanted? Like Yule Brenner made those anti smoking commercials to air after he died of lung cancer? He's been by her side all through her illness and wants t marry before she dies...It's not a money or fame thing for him or for her definitely.
You never ask a navy man if he'll have another drink, because it's nobody's goddamned business how much he's had already.

Since she's supposedly on her death bed, wouldn't it be ironic if she ended up dieing on Friday, the same day the documentary airs? Actually, it's a documentary that she herself made, like cousin it said. Maybe she's the one who wants to see it aired now.
