This story actually shows the power of the internet in today's culture. In the hours following the incident, people were ready to crucify this guy. Then the internet took over and it turned the tide in his favor. The incident went from an outrage to a craze on the internet consisting of thousands of photoshopped pics across cyberspace.
We live in a strange world.

it wouldn't have because there wasn't that "instant flow of info" thing we have happening now a days where everyone has access to just about EVERYONE else....if you did something controversial back then you had to wait for a newspaper or magazine article if it wasn't heavy enough to be broadcast on the news....
besides, when did outbursts by barely talented artists become big news anyway?
