Trump will be on the general election ballot. Anyone who wants to vote for him, will do so. There was no incentive for anyone to come out and vote for the GOP as the nomination is done. So called independents will have ample opportunity to support Trump if they choose.


Why shouldn't they have announced Clinton? The super delegates are part of the democratic primary. She reached the magic number, so why pretend that Sanders had a chance?

It's like Coulter said last week.  Sotomayor can run around saying a "wise latina" will come to a better conclusion than a white male due to her race and gender.  The Media continually says that Trump will alienate all hispanics with his positions.  All white juries are evil because they stink of racism.  Yet, a Latino judge who supports illegal immigration and belongs to a group called "The Race" is perfectly capable of being a judge with regards to Trump.  

 

Which is it?  Anyone with an IQ above Gump can realize the left is completely phony and hypocritical on this issue.  "Race is only allowed when we say it is!"

If they do this, expect a coup.  If the DNC want to allow 1/3 of their votes to belong to cronies and insiders, that's their choice.  But the GOP should adhere to the agreement with voters.  Trump won fairly.  The RNC didn't bitch when they thought Trump was bringing in great ratings for Bush or Walker.  If they pull this shit and go back to the Jesus and abortion nonsense, they're done.  The Democratic party is blowing up with its double think and trying to cater to blacks, the poor, latinos, women and every gender identity some fantasy author has drafted.  Obama is going to lose his immigration battle and we have Hajis shooting up shit every couple of months.  All Trump needs to do is lean on them and say if you interviewed this guy twice, gave him a job for Homeland Security and let him buy a gun, why the fuck should we trust you vetting hundreds of thousands of Muslims from Syria and Iraq, it'd shut Hillary down.  The feel good, hold hands and be a brother nonsense wouldn't fly here.

 

I don't think this will happen and think most of it is just the media desperate for ratings, trying to stir the pot so to speak.

I have no doubt some one is thinking up a million different scenarios, but so far it's just a dozen Cruz supporters talking on the phone.  I still have no doubt Clinton is going to win the general, and it looks like it's going to be more and more of a landslide.  But that doesn't mean the GOP should dump Trump and then go running back to whatever Bozo jumps up to defend Kim Davis fast enough.  There's a chance here to steal the populism the DNC has had a strangle on for 2 decades and make an actual case that America is a pretty cool fucking place.  And we should be focused on our own and not every sad story to show up at immigration or continue the narrative of finding some victim status for anyone who isn't a straight, white male.  

 

If Trump loses the general because he's a fucking idiot who won't assemble a legitimate campaign team and enjoys twitter battles, that's on him.  But don't try to shove Cruz or some other idiot down the GOP's throats under some sleazy last minute rule change.  Yes, the rules committee can change their rules at any moment, but if they do this to keep Trump out, why should anyone ever bother voting again?  Let the DNC be the ones who fix the ballots and coordinate to get their candidate of choice on the ballot.  

I don't think stolen documents should be circulated. No more than whatever this Secret Service agent trying to make a quick buck should be given air time. Regardless on the truth of his claims, it's a breach of trust and shouldn't be condoned.

I was at the show last night too.  Fucking amazing.  Greatest show of my life.  I bought nose bleeds cause I got front row in Pittsburgh next week, but they relocated me down to section 146, so I had great seats.  Fantastic show and Adler coming out was amazing.

Didn't know you were there...I'm guessing you were the guy yelling "HAIL SATAN" at the Bible thumpers out front. But yeah, it was a killer show. They sounded tight and the sound was pretty good for a stadium.

So Trump is ahead in PA and FL and tied in Ohio.  Maybe Clinton isn't the shoe in so many of us thought.

It's actually a really great pick. He's from a Midwestern state, his claim to fame as you put it, is the religious freedom bill that appeals to the evangelicals because Jesus, and libertarian types like me who believe freedom of association is protected by the first amendment.

He adds conservative credibility to Trump and brings political credibility.

Quayle didn't hinder Bush from beating Dukakis.  I don't like him or dislike him.  I'm just saying the guy is a conservative scare crow that will give some credibility to Trump among the Cruz types.  It's not going to hurt or help Trump.  I still intend to vote Johnson unless Ohio is close, which is probably will be.  My biggest fear is Clinton in the White House, not Trump.  This country doesn't need 2-3 more justices who think the Constitution is a living, breathing document capable of being interpreted differently based on the political issue at hand.  I'm not saying the 4 conservative justices get it always right or the liberal ones never get it right.  But justices who ignore the intent and founder's writings on the amendments and think the government can compel you to purchase a private product while at the same time compel you to sell to people against your will, scare the shit out of me.

We've had these discussions before, and I'm certainly not going to defend government discrimination.  All 3 of the cases you mentioned deal with how the government treats people and prohibits them from some arbitrary distinction under the law.  I think there's something to be said about looking at the framer's intent with the 2nd amendment and realizing that they clearly intended an individual right to bear arms versus the "regulated militia" aspect the 4 justices came up with in their dissent in Heller.  True, when the 14th amendment was passed, Congress certainly didn't have homosexuality or interracial marriage in mind.  But they did establish an ideal in liberty, and the justices rightfully followed that ideals concepts in ruling in Brown, Loving and Lawrence.  

 

Kim Davis was wrong because she was a representative of the government and her personal opinions or beliefs don't allow her to discriminate in a legal capacity.  Frank the baker, who isn't funded by taxes and can go belly up at any moment, shouldn't have to sell or associate with anyone he doesn't want to.  You and I can both think he's an asshole and refuse to provide him with our business.  SCOTUS ruled in NAACP v. Alabama that the freedom of association was inherent in the first amendment.  I believe constitutional liberties take priority over hurt feelings.
