In the lead up to the release of Telephantasm, I will post a daily link to one of the lesser known Soundgarden tunes.

Today's download will be the demo of Missing.

edit: A bonus for today. I uploaded the track Karaoke a week ago on my site. It kicks so much ass it deserves to be in this thread as well.

Since Cornell did Slash's album, Ive gained a new appreciation for him and would love starting to try to get into them. so this is a great thread for me to do that.

New Damage with Brian May

This is NOT a crappy live bootleg. Soundgarden went into the studio and rerecorded this song in 1994 for some compilation album(LOOONG out of print). For some reason May got involved, and while he was not in the studio with Soundgarden to record it, his contribution was added to the track.

This version definitely has a different "feel" to it than the version on Badmotorfinger.

4shared must have been doing maintenance so I couldn't upload it to our account. I'll eventually add this to it because their links don't die.

Hope you have a good dentist because this song's gonna kick your teeth in. Its actually their most famous B side but deserves a spot in this thread. Instead of the typical version, this is the Brenden O Brien mix.

The fact that a song of this magnitude could be left off Superunknown shows you how great that album was.

What is their heaviest album, anyhow? Thanks for the uploads, Sir.

Tough question. They are all heavy in varying degrees. If forced to choose, I would go with Badmotorfinger.

All their albums with the debut being the exception are mind blowing.

Superunknown is my favorite album, but Down on the Upside is a monster record. Lots of styles and experimentation on it. Don't judge it on its few hits. The deep cuts are the treasure.

This song is the only Soundgarden song to feature female vocals. It's a cover of Fancy's 'Touch Me'....

The song only appeared on an import cd single of Rusty Cage. Have no fucking clue who the chick is that's singing.

The Moby remix of Dusty. It's better than the album version.

If you guys are enjoying these tunes(specifically D and AMM who are obviously new and/or casual fans), take into consideration these are literally throwaway tracks. Yes they kick ass, but that should show you the quality that awaits you on the actual albums. I remember a couple years ago on my site, someone asked me what the cream of Soundgarden's crop was. I of course posted a list, but also told him if he dove into Soundgarden's discography, he literally would not give a fuck about Chinese Democracy. I actually envy someone who has yet to fully experience this band and is on the verge of doing so. Your virginal ears are about to get their cherries popped. While Axl is my favorite singer, other than AFD, he cant even pipe dream about doing anything up to the standards of this band. Many years ago Axl himself said these guys bury him, and he certainly wasn't joking.

one man's opinion. I personally can't stand Chris Cornell.Never have, never will. I do respect the music and there is the odd song I may listen to... but meh, not for me, and I think he can't even shine a candle on Axl's ass..one womans' opinions.... seriously, who could sing Spooooonman and keep a straight face. You want something with meat on it,check out Dave Mathews
