I used to hate Billy's voice too but the music is so good apart from that it became irresistable.

Green Day - American Idiot I liked pretty everything they put out up to this point. Just too poppy and sterile for me, yet everyone else seems to like it.

more annoying voice billy corgan or fred durst?

I actually don't mind Fred Durst. I think Limp Bizkit get a lot of criticism they don't deserve. I mean, they're not that bad are they? I think that if some other singer wrote some of their lyrics they'd get praised for them, but when Durst writes them, he's 'whining'. JMO.

Results May Vary seems to be panned by most people, but I like it. So I guess it's the opposite of what this thread was originally about in that sense.

Agree 100 percent. Im not an EVH fan

Smashing pumpkins Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness

Had a friend beat me over the head with this.....

DL it and i fucking Hate it.

Billy Corgan has to be the most annoying frontman of all time.

I absolutely cannot stand this band. I knew a chick in 94 that listened to their album Siamese Dream almost non stop. Anything Pumpkins related reminds me of that bitch and I have always avoided them like the plague. That song Bullets With Butterfly Wings is actually pretty damn good though I will admit. That was their single before 1979 got huge.

I love results may vary but there other albums do not stand up and that little whine Fred has in his voice annoys the shit out of me. yeah SP are a terrible band. 1979 and Bullet are good songs..and i like that Ava Adore song a couple of the ones on that album.. but ughhhhh for the most part.

The Baz thread in the GNR section made me think of another album I think is a bit overrated, Skid Row's Slave To The Grind. I don't dislike it, but it's never made me think "Wow, this is awesome!". Bach obviously has a powerful voice but TBH it sounds at times as if he's trying too hard to ROAR. And some of the lyrics are just baffling. What the hell does "tear down the rat racial slime" mean? 0_o

Admittedly it's not an album I've listened to loads, but it's not matched the hype I've seen it get. Maybe I should give it another chance....

I don't even listen to that record anymore but it was a shock for its time. Skid Row was just a typical hair metal band on their debut and hit the world over the head with Slave to the Grind. No one expected that. It had songs heavy enough for teens into Slayer to listen to and the slower songs were great. It's their only album that showed their true potential. To this day I still cant believe they followed that album up with the EP B-Sides Ourselves. It's like they wanted to fail.
Surprise, surprise, surprise!

I thought that album was tremendous for it's time.

I think Slave To the Grind holds and is still amazing Quicksand Jesus is one of the most amazing songs ever. His vocal at the end of Wasted Time is untouchable.
