For me, it's anything by U2 or Nirvana. I just couldn't ever get into The Joshua Tree, as big as an album as it was at the time.

The one that came to mind right off is. ... Pet Sounds by the beach boys

Yeah, I like the first song and I think another one on there, but in general it is not the greatest thing since sliced bread like some people make it out to be.

The album is decent but no classic to me. Have a uncle who is a huge boys and Beatles fan That dude drove me fucking bonkers growing up and at times still today.

^ Here's a killer Rush song you'd probably dig, Sir:

Excuse the fan-made video, but it's the only studio version I could find.

Most of my issue is with Geddy Lee's vox. I just can't stand 'em. He's actually significantly less abrasive on their newer stuff (Snakes and Arrows, I think it was called).
Sister burn the temple
And stand beneath the moon
The sound of the ocean is dead
It's just the echo of the blood in your head

We'll hold the waterboarding for you and just get some old Rush albums together then.

Faith No More- Angel Dust would be at the top of my list. Didn't sell a trillion records but is critically acclaimed from here to Timbuktu but I just don't get it.
Surprise, surprise, surprise!

I am unable to tell if this towel is pro or against FNM.

Patton is always good for trying something new. If you were hearing Angel Dust for the first time today, it would sound like alot of other stuff that came out in the late 90's and after, but at the time is was quite groundbreaking. Not every attempt worked though. i will listen to anything he puts out because I know I will hear something I have never heard before, but I am aware there will be one or two that I will never want to hear ever again. Mr. Bungle is a good example of that. Peeping Tom was almost mainstream by his standards.
