I sold my pair and picked up some AXS right by the stage, haha. I was a little nervous, but my tickets sold within 3 hours of listing on SH-I woke up and they were gone.

After it's all said and done, it was all a wash. I ended up paying face for Row M, seats 1,2. Fine by me! The Missus is a bit irritated I think, but she'll be OK. This will be my 12th and final GnR show. I think it's somewhat fitting to have seen the original band first, and then as my final (for a while anyway, never say never) tonight.

Seeing Slash's twist on things, I'm really optimistic for new music now. Axl seems to be taking this seriously, doing sound checks with the band, being in the building, and has been working on his voice.

When I heard the intro to Better, I thought it was a new song. Sounded great.

Congrats on scoring great tix!  I'll probably be watching tonight's show too, see what they do tonight.  And don't kid yourself - this won't be your last show.

Axl seems to be in a good place right now, and he looks happy to be playing with Slash again.  Some people were saying his voice didn't sound great, but I thought he sounded a hell of a lot better than he has in a long time, a least from recent videos I've seen.

What do you think the situation is with Izzy and Steven, or Gilby and Matt for that matter?

Weeeelllll........ since you asked......I personally think Izzy is strange.  Great but strange.  I don't think he wants anything to do with being back full time, ever; I think those bridges are burned for him.  Rumors are they couldn't settle on a monetary deal for him to guest, but I find that hard to believe.  Yet, he chooses NOW to open a Twitter account...why now? I'm not really asking, but just pointing out that he uses this time to finally start doing some social media.

Steven's a wild card.  Maybe he'll have guest spots.  Maybe they don't trust his drumming full time, who knows.  I'm afraid he's gone off the deep end someplace, you know?

I'd like to see Matt do some guest drumming somewhere, but he's really not in that picture of AFD players, and neither's Gilby, so maybe that won't happen.

Then again, maybe GNR didn't want to kick out two more players to make room for any of those four people.  Wouldn't have hurt my feelings any.  Still, that being said, I don't believe Ashba truly left willingly - I think he was given a lucrative deal to move on in order to open a spot back up for Slash.  Ashba probably didn't see his gig there as going anyplace anyway.

I"m just happy to see things like Civil War, Coma, etc.  The CD years' tours were basically an AFD/CD mixtape, with a miniscule amount of UYI material thrown in.

Did you see who got arrested? I assume a fight broke out on the floor. We'll probably never know what happened. When I saw that I had a feeling it was forum related.

I think its over. Any bargaining chips those guys have are vanishing as we speak. This is turning into a machine that is on the verge of hitting stadiums. I can see this being the final lineup.

Whatever offer is on the table right now...they better take it.

Lots of fun, and another level above the "Nu" GnR shows I've been seeing the last 15 years. These guys were just meant to play together. Nothing against the previous incarnation(s) of course. I thought they were great...but this is how it should be. Slash is the man.

Axl's voice is good, not great. It's strong in parts, and weak in others. The online fan boys will have you believe he's in tip top shape vocally, something we haven't heard in years. That's simply not the case. The dude can really let it rip, other times his voice thins out and goes high. It is what it is. Not that big of a deal, but if you're expecting 2006 Axl, full of rasp, you're not going to get it. But he's singing his ass off for 2.5 hours, there is no doubt about that.

This is not to be missed. Hopefully you get to see him being Axl, moving around the stage. That would be my only bummer part of the night. But on the other hand it was kind of fitting. It looks like some kind of futuristic-alternate-universe-Axl. More eccentric and crazy than ever, like some sort of rock n' roll Colonel Kurtz, ya know? Sitting in what appears to be a throne, while the guitar players come up and play to/around him. He's getting his ass wheeled off stage so he can still change outfits, and people bring him towels to wipe himself down etc. It's a spectacle in its own right.

So yea, go see this.
