You'll notice he doesn't say what should be done.

I'm not sure a Republican has had an idea in the last six years.  Sad that W was the last one with ideas.

This guy's columns are WAY better than Ann Coulter's. Ukraine Illustrates Hard Truths That Liberals Won't Face http://townhall.com/...t-face-n1812563 #iThing #word

This guy's columns are WAY better than Ann Coulter's.

That's akin to saying "This [insert food item here] is WAY better than the fly swarmed bologna sandwich I found near the Port-o-Potty after the Daytona 500".

But, still, it's no better than most opinion journalism --- full of biased strawman arguments, a very selective understanding of what the other side believes, and a focus on proving the other side wrong that actually distracts from the more important point of making a worthwhile cogent argument or, at the very least, of proving yourself right --- which fuels the shit cannons of politics and "journalism" today.  I was hoping to read something valuable about Ukraine; color me disappointed.

So the only proposal in that anti-liberal slam piece is to engage in war with Putin? If there was another proposal I missed it. Why would we enter another war on a continent that is not ours?

The author's ability to take a topic, in this case Ukraine, and then weave in an attack on his political enemies across the spectrum was efficient. I'm not sure he is advocating war with Russia, just lamenting "how we got here." #iThing #word

Significant increase in US Military Emergency Action Messages(EAM) last night on multiple HF bands. EAMs are signals sent by the Pentagon to the US Nuclear Command. Probably, either sending a message to Putin, or moving strategic assets in case shit goes south when Russia invades.

I don't think most Americans are down for another conflict.

^^^ No one is suggesting we provide ground based assets to Ukraine, but we have to be prepared for any eventuality. Fortunately, we have a competent command structure that assesses future possibilities, and plans accordingly. That said, we passed up a grand opportunity in Syria to bleed the fuck out of Russia. Hopefully, if the opportunity presents itself, again(viz Ukraine), we take full advantage of the situation.

As an aside, I used to speak Russian, but haven't used it in 40 years. Thinking about dusting off the old lessons.

The only news I could find is an article about a visit to Nome Ak.

A lot of activity associated with it(???) in the North Atlantic/Arctic.
