They say that America and Britain are separated by a common language and nowhere is this more apparent than with "cunt". They way the British use "cunt" is replaced by so many words in the US...asshole, dickhead, douchebag...take your pick. Whereas "cunt" in the US is basically like "bitch" to a factor of ten, and almost always used toward women.
Just strange. Personally, it's a lovely word and deserves more non-misogynistic uses here in the new world.

Agreed, in Scotland it's really a term of endearment even. Here, the weirdest thing is that the friends I know who use it are all women, and all women I've got to be close friends with before they reveal that fact. I never use it in conversation here except with them. Oh and my daughter uses it but my wife definitely does not.
