I need to look that tour up for tickets. 

 

Edit: Don't see them for Vegas. This happens often and I don't know why. A band will announce a tour, but you'll never see tickets for Vegas on the list for a while. 

 

It's a weird kind of tour with festivals, sheds, and arenas. Just scraped in for 8/11 with a few left and then they added a third show for 8/13 which is my birthday so got tickets for that too. Opening is Run The Jewels, my favorite rap/hip hop band. Saw them with Jack White a few years ago and Zach from RATM came on for one song - he's on a couple of their albums.

It's now 1 day since I saw my last show. Jack White at Barclay's Center - he always puts on a great show. Was weird to be at a gig after 2+ years, yet oddly familiar.

I wore a mask when walking around but not at my seat. Hardly anyone was masked at all.

Took the missus to Bon Jovi...can't recommend...75% post 2000 songs (aka, what I don't wanna hear) and he misses 90% of the high notes (which the newer stuff doesn't have, which is why he's singing it...).

The youtube videos of his singing this tour are terrible - he's not just missing notes, he's out of key etc, like something is wrong with him beyond age.

Getting older is especially tough on singers I think. Kind of not fair in a way. My voice has become very raspy the last few years and I often lose it after a day of talking on the phone these days. So I get it. 

 

I also think some of these guys just don't take of themselves, or have hearing loss on top of it. The lifestyle of a rock performer just takes its toll. 

 

I watched Bon Jovi  on a few youtube performances. Some were really lousy, another was fairly acceptable. But you're right, he does kind of just stand there. Do you think he has some sort of cognitive issue?

I don't know if it's a cognitive thing, but it reminds me off Ozzy (at his worst), it's not that he's missing notes, he doesn't even seem to know what some notes should be.

I did zero research before buying tix...it was a spur of the moment Valentine's gift, bc we went 20 years back and had a blast.  Top three most disappointing shows I've seen, sadly.

The videos I saw just seemed like didn't want to be there. I mean jeez, the guy has been performing for 40 years. I wouldn't want to do anything for that long. I'm good for another 5-7 in my current job before I check out, haha.
