WASHINGTON — Secretary of State Rex Tillerson was on the verge of resigning this past summer amid mounting policy disputes and clashes with the White House, according to multiple senior administration officials who were aware of the situation at the time.

 

The tensions came to a head around the time President Donald Trump delivered a politicized speech in late July to the Boy Scouts of America, an organization Tillerson once led, the officials said.

 

Just days earlier, Tillerson had openly disparaged the president, referring to him as a “moron,” after a July 20 meeting at the Pentagon with members of Trump’s national security team and Cabinet officials, according to three officials familiar with the incident.

 

While it's unclear if he was aware of the incident, Vice President Mike Pence counseled Tillerson, who is fourth in line to the presidency, on ways to ease tensions with Trump, and other top administration officials urged him to remain in the job at least until the end of the year, officials said.

There's this guy - Seth Abrahmson - on twitter who is a journalism or law professor or something. He's totally obsessed with Trump-Russia and especially the Steele Dossier. Not sure everything he posts is 100% fact but he does seem to put different strands together to make a compelling narrative. Anyway, today or yesterday, he seems convinced that Media is now sitting on a story that has some evidence towards the pee pee tape existing. Not the actual tape, but seems there were witnesses at the hotel that evening who saw Trump (or Trump's people) arguing with hotel management about whether they would officially document/sign in the (assume) prostitutes coming to his room. I totally doubt we will ever see the tape but I do think something like it probably exists and that much of the dossier will turn out to be true-ish. Seems Mueller's people have interviewed Steele too.

They are now saying HILLARY colluded with Russia because of this. I'm not sure how they arrived at the connection. Does this also mean then the GOP was colluding with Russia first? And then the FBI? It's just all so dumb. But rest assured they'll be talking about this for years now, especially if the outcome for Trump is poor.
