^^ I think the crime is conspiring to obtain the information; not who the players were-- that's just the icing on the cake.
When you conspire to commit a crime, it doesn't matter if you were able to execute that plan. It also doesn't matter if you were an unwitting accomplice.

True, but that goes back to my initial point. Is it only a crime because it was Russian government? What if a Russian with no connections to the Russian state had come in with info on Hillary? Surely that's not a problem...how could it be? So my point is that for this crime you'd have to know it was a foreign government and that it would have to be illegal for it to come from a foreign government. And, Trump would have to have also known and in some way approved, since he wasn't at the meeting.
It's all shady as shit, but I'm not living in a world where I think this is leading to impeachment and prosecution of the President. I'd rather just beat his ass in 2020 than have that religious nut Pence sleaze his way in.

How was the information obtained? Is ignorance of law a justification for its violation?
As despicable as Pence is, I think that his actions would be based upon what he thought was in the best interests of our republic. That said, fuck him and the Jesus horse he rode in on.

Imagine the pressure Trump is under right now. All the others flipping, Manafort about to be convicted, Omarosa playing her tapes on TV, his other lawyer spent hours with Manafort testifying about something, Cohen about to make his deal....
