Wall Street is one of my all-time favorite films. I've seen it dozens of times and know every word of the script word for word. lol. (I even have an unedited directors' cut version in my little home movie collection).

So, I can't wait for Wall Street 2! I don't care what the reviews say - I will be there the second it opens.

Anyone else plan to see it the day it opens?

It's one of my all time favorites, just ask Bud Fox.

I actually just remembered we were getting close to the big date tonight when I saw Douglas on CNN for something.

I can't wait.

Have you seen the interviews both Michael Douglas and Oliver Stone have given about the original Wall Street? Stone said he originally thought he was painting Gordon Gekko as the evil villain and was shocked when all the movie-goers came out of the theater admiring the Gekko character. Michael Douglas says he still gets Wall Street guys coming up to him on the street today, shaking his hand and saying "You're the reason I'm working on Wall Street today. I wanted to be Gordon Gekko." Too funny.

The whole movie was so well done. I could go on and on.

Yes, I've seen Douglas over the years say he was shocked that people thought of him as the hero, and that it actually annoyed him after a while. "If I have one more person come up to me and say....."

I guess that just goes to show how well he nailed that character. I love love LOVE Wall Street. They still reference the white collar too "wearing a Gekko" etc, when somebody chooses that style of shirt. Although I read it's a term more used by brokers etc.

I'd prefer to see more of Charlie Sheen in this movie too. He's due for a movie comeback and this could have been an excellent venue for that. Oh well...we've got about a month to go...

Warning possible spoilers.

1) Beautifully shot, NYC looked awesome

2) I kept waiting for the "confusing technical jargon" I've been reading about, lol

3) I thought Shia would be too weak for this role, but now I don't think so because

4) The movie was much softer than the original

5) Way too much time on the Father/Daughter relationship aspect

6) It lacked the outright ruthlessness of the first WS. In the first WS you felt the loss, in WS2 even though the economy was melting down you just didn't get that knot in your stomach, perhaps because we already knew how it played out?

7) Simply not enough Gekko, and when he did "come back" they didn't show enough of it, another powder puff punch after a long build up

8) Hard hitting cast, superb acting and I really liked Brolin. I almost wish they had scrapped the Shia character and put Brolin up against Douglas in some capacity. Two amazing actors, more intensity, anger blood in the streets etc.

Still a good movie, not great, but good. I really need to see it again once it comes out on DVD. I'd give it a B minus or C + (it pains me to say that really.)
