Hold on, this side show doesn't even have a fake cock? Sorry, this is one of those issues that piss me off to no end. Your chromosomes decide your sex, not your opinion. So this girl had her breast removed, took some hormone injections, but didn't get a fake penis sculpted. yet wants to be called a man? If as these people say, they want to look on the outside as they feel on the inside, having a penis and testicle is pretty much the defining feature of male mammals. I don't care what anyone does with their lives, but I won't consider her a man, regardless of what the masses of sheep do. If I hacked my dick off, took estrogen pills and had implants, no matter how hard I wished it so, I'd still be a man. This type of warped thinking where going under the scalpel changes your gender is no less delusional than the billions who buy into fairytales about our origin or where we go after.

It's so easy to judge other people unfairly when you haven't walked in their shoes and know what it feels like. Just because something's never happened to you does not make it any less real for the person who is going through it.

Chromosomes and physical characteristics are sexual identity. Gender identity is something completely different. They are not the same.

I don't consider myself to be part of a mass of sheep, but someone who tries to keep an open mind about things and tries to realize that every human being is created differently. My personal experiences and feelings are completely different from the next person's, and I can't possibly know what that person is going through.

I give Chaz Bono a lot of credit for having the guts to talk openly about his experiences and feelings. He can perhaps use his "celebrity" to help inform. Wedjat - just wanted to add that I've known of a lot of couples who have survived this type of transition and prefer not to use labels about themselves. They look more at the soul and substance of who the person is, because in the long run they realize that they are still with the same person.
