Saw them at Detroit Ford Field last night! Great show! For me, epic moments included seeing Coma live, the end of November Rain, and Knockin' on Heaven's Door. But, loved every second! First time seeing GnR, live, at all. Should have gone back in the day, but didn't. Then, had no desire for many years. Was awesome seeing 3 of them on stage together again!

Damn does this lineup kill it on the title track. Hasn't sounded this good since Bucket bailed. DTJ at this show is great too.
So many wasted years. Praise Jesus that Axl still has plenty of gas left in the tank.

DTJ has never been a fave for me, but that's a nice rendition and the guitar at the end is lovely. I'm stoked...11 days!

Hey! I'm in a photo with GnR! Ha! I was in row C seat 3, to Axl's right as he is standing and just beyond the GA pit area (which was very small, thankfully). Now....when I enlarge the picture, I think I can see me. lol! Not really, but I'm in there somewhere.

Paradise Kitty last night. They played the entire AFD album, and then three songs for the encore. Unlike Axl they started at 8 PM sharp, so I missed the first four song. They were pretty damn good.
After that we went down to the Strip and saw Phoenix, which is a great cover band who seems to focus on early 80s stuff: 38 Special, AC/DC, Van Halen etc.
LOTS AND LOTS of what I consider old people at both gigs...I'm like, are these my peeps? But they were dancing and carrying on, so gawd bless 'em.
Vegas is fun.

Can you send that photo to NASA and have them work their magic?

I hate that periscope crap and prefer to wait for youtube footage to cherry pick but I watched a hefty portion of last night's show. It was incredible. My jaw hit the floor during Jungle.....I've never heard it played that fast before. I'm starting to understand the complaints about Frank now. Having said that, the band clearly has no issue with it and might actually prefer it like this. A change of pace may freshen these songs up for them.
He sounded better on Estranged than he did in 91-93. Same with most of the material. I know why he sounds better on some of this stuff and its not a vocal coach.....he was using meth back then even though fans like to pretend he was drug free on that tour. Go listen to Estranged or Don't Cry at Tokyo 92 or another show. His voice croaking like that during parts of songs is due to crank running down the back of his throat. When he was going backstage to change clothes, Willy Wonka was giving him nose candy.
That's not an issue anymore.
Last night's show may have had the best rendition of DTJ yet. That song is such a killer jam. I always wanted the Bucket lineup to tackle it but now that the real thing is back, I'm glad much of this UYI stuff was saved.
In other news, TWAT has been removed from the list of alternates and has been replaced by Sorry.

Its now official......Slash owns TIL. Its been a work in progress but he definitely knows what to do with it now.
We've all said this a million times but fuck it I'm saying it again.....
THis needed to happen in 2006. When two people can walk into the band and in a matter of a couple months improve your songs that had multiple versions and been in limbo 10+ years, you clearly needed major help as the project was going nowhere.
The CD project lacked chemistry and focus.
