So much for the "Good guy with a gun" theory. If anybody, the well trained good guy with a gun know's he no match for an AR 15. 

 

 

 

Same thing happened at Columbine. The cops waited for the shooting to stop before they considered going in.

 

Also in Vegas. There were people there with guns but they were too scared of getting shot to try and go get their guns.

Fought off by a dude who grabbed his gun...not "an armed hero citizen"...some dude just grabbed it.

 

Can someone explain to me how in a country with this many guns, we don't have way more examples of the mythical armed good guy who fights off the bad guy and defends the children and womenfolk?

^^^ I'm going to assume you're being facetious, but if not, it is probably because at any given time in a public situation, the likelihood of someone being armed is very low. But as I'm sure you know, attacks have been stopped by someone that happened to be carrying a weapon. Probably more important though, is that a study has shown that being armed increases the the chances that the person carrying a weapon is more prone to become aggressive in a situation, and that has lead to the "good guy" actually becoming the bad guy(that Zimmerman asshole is one example).

 

I think more important for what happened in Nashville is that the shooter was a "sovereign citizen", and apparently a nut case that had his weapons removed, and then returned. Now, I don't know about you, but I associate the sovereign citizen movement with racism, and I suspect that a lot of them support radical rightwing ideology. I am going to go out on a limb here... I have a strong suspicion that most of those shot at the Waffle House were black. I hope I'm wrong, but given the shooter's ideology, I doubt it.

I am being facetious. 

 

But I'm not kidding when I say that I go to the Waffle House every now and then.  It used to just be in the South, but they've made their way to central Indiana.  Took my family there like two weeks ago.  Up here at least, it's pretty white.
