What nonsense.  Some people must not have dick to do, to some up with shit like this.  I would imagine that this'll see some serious pushback from professors who want the freedom to engage interesting ideas in the classroom.

I read that a few weeks ago and secretly hoped it was from Freedom.

 

Nope, not me.  in fact, happily, that person's experience doesn't sound remotely like my own.  If there ever comes a day where I don't feel comfortable engaging in controversial topics, then I'll look for other work.  I'm teaching on the Israeli/Palestinian Conflict this fall, and that can often lead to outside groups demonizing you and organizing protests.  What could be more fun?

I could use one.  My summer school ends today, which means eight weeks off.  By "off" I mean my kids are in daycare two days/week, on which days I'll spend my time painting some of the remaining unnecessarily yellow rooms in my house.  The other three days/week I get to be Dad all day.  In other words, working for myself without pay and/or enslaved to my family, dependent on the day of the week.  "Vacation".

I feel your pain. My step-son is going to come back out to live with us in August. The kid (well he's 21) needs help, but we were going to put up a stripper pole in the bedroom. Now what? Fuckin' bullshit man.
