Did you develop pneumonia when you got the flu?

Yep, was some shit. Couldn't get my fever to break(on top of the breathing), so the doc gave me a megadose of Tylenol(2000mg) which broke the fever. I was wary of taking it for fear of hepatic toxicity, but I did. After the first day, they placed a PICC line into my chest which led to another DVT in my right arm and neck. I've had 4 different episodes(both legs-right twice, and right arm). At 50% mortality rate, I'm bucking the odds!

That also when I learned I have Factor 5 Leiden mutation which apparently 2% of people of northern European ancestry carry. I like to thing of it as evolution in action... we were a battle hardened race of people, so those with the genetic mutation were more able to withstand catastrophic battle wounds... we didn't bleed out after loosing a limb, we clotted off to fight again. Just a hypothesis, but a damn good one.

CUNY, where I teach, finally moving online. Everyone should be, in fact no one should be going anywhere or doing anything.

We're in isolation basically. Kept our daughter home from school (NYC schools still open, ugh). Only good out for food or pharmacy or wine  :)  No public transport. Feel it's too late but will see.

Ha! My step daughter graduated from CUNY last year, and is in CUNY Law, now.

Secondary school systems all across Kentucky are shutting down until April 10 with students doing on-classes. All the universities have already closed.

Earlier this week, a school bus driver in Fayette Co.(Lexington) worked 2 days while infected with it- probably enough to spread it through that school.

Scary. Especially for the liver too.

I've been gone 5 days to the Grand Canyon in an RV. As soon as I got internet connection and read the news, I wanted to turn around and go back into the woods. Between all the coronavirus stuff and the DOW, holy sheet.

The most shocking thing I read today:

My understanding is he did not push to do aggressive additional testing in recent weeks, and that's partly because more testing might have led to more cases being discovered of coronavirus outbreak, and the president had made clear - the lower the numbers on coronavirus, the better for the president, the better for his potential reelection this fall.

I'd say the odds of dear leader having this is pretty high. Just a hunch.

Even if he gets it, we'll never be told the truth. I would be shocked if so.

And even if he dies, Fox would splice together old clips to run together and tell us he's stronger than ever.

Just moved my oldest son home from college as Coronageddon cancelled classes in person for the rest of the semester. My daughter's high school closed for a month. Wife's work shutting down for a week.

My daughter's school is still open for now. Not sure how I feel about that.

I've had 3 clients/customers cancel trips this week already, one just this morning. One lead told me they see a buying opportunity when the market tanks (ok great for you I guess.)

MGM grand (is the first) to cut down a great deal of their operations as some of their staff has tested positive for the virus.

I'm asking the Missus to maybe hold off on the gym for a while, since it's a highly infectious place to begin with, but she doesn't seem concerned. Her plane and Disneyworld trip was actually canceled by her Mom, then of course Disney closed. So I won on that one.

I'm going to stop shaking hands, and avoid the buffets which are my favorite. No gym and just avoid crowds altogether.

My Mom said the grocery store was so packed yesterday that you couldn't really get in. Not worth it. We're ordering some groceries online now, including TP, but won't get delivered until Monday night or Tuesday morning.

We're actually all sick right now, sore throats and fatigue, which of course is unnerving a bit, but my daughter got a head cold on the trip (the kid is always sick since starting school) and I spent the last 4 days having her cough and hack boogies in my face non stop. So it's probably just whatever funk she has.
