Out of the Jets Camp Head Coach Rex Ryan is in the process of putting together his staff and now has his three coordinators in place with Schottenheimer, Mike Pettine (defense) and Mike Westhoff (special teams). Bill Callahan, who also interviewed for the head-coaching vacancy after Eric Mangini was fired, was retained as the offensive line coach.

Out of the Browns Camp: Browns Head Coach Eric Mangini has named his three coordinators. The team announced the hirings of offensive coordinator Brian Daboll, defensive coordinator Rob Ryan and Brad Seely as assistant head coach/special teams coordinator. All 3 worked with Mangini with the Patriots.

The news is being dominated by the Cardinals going to the Super Bowl. Even though I'm not a Cards fan, I will still root for them on Sunday. By the way, Plummer has always been an ass in my opinion.

An ordeal that cost Jeff Jagodzinski the head-coaching job at Boston College ended Thursday with him landing the Buccaneers’ offensive coordinator job. After weeks of looking, the San Francisco 49ers finally found their man. They hired Jimmy Raye as their offensive coordinator, league sources said Wednesday night. Raye, a former running backs coach for the New York Jets, beat out candidates such as Baltimore Ravens quarterbacks coach Hue Jackson and new San Diego Chargers assistant head coach Rob Chudzinski.

This weekend is the scouting combines. So far the top 20 have been pretty impressive. It's amazing how big and fast some of these guys are.

Marvin Harrison 1 of the triplets...(Harrison, James, Manning) was released from the Colts to find another team to play for. The Colts could not afford the wide receivers 13+million dollar salary even with restructuring. The Colts say they will retire #88 and add Harrison to the ring of fame when he does retire. The Colt's also do not rule out the possibility of resigning Harrison at a lower pay and they also want when it is time for Harrison to retire a Colt. Marvin Harrison is in the top 5 receiver category and is the highest paid receiver in the NFL. Marvin who was drafted by the Colts in 1996 from Syracuse is said to be interested in playing with former college teammate Donovan McNabb. Friday is the start of free agent signings. He caught 1,102 passes for 14,580 yards and 128 touchdowns — all rank in the NFL's top five. He broke all of the Colts major single-season and career receiving records, most previously held by Hall-of-Famer Raymond Berry, and teamed with Manning to form the most prolific passing duo in league history. Harrison won a Super Bowl and was selected to eight Pro Bowls. There will be a lot of moves this year in the free agent market and in the upcoming draft.

Julius Peppers still is said to be heading to the Cowboys. He will not agree to a trade with any other team. The signing of Pepper's who will have the franchise tag will cost any team a 1st. round draft pick. Fred Taylor recently released by Jax. Jaguars is set to meet with the Pats and Bills this week.

Patriots trade QB Cassel and LB/TE Mike Vrabel to the K.C. Chiefs for a second round draft pick and 14.65 million...(Cassel's salary). It has been said that Cassel will compete against Thigpen for the starting Q.B. job. You pay some guy almost 15 million to compete to get the starters job? WTF? The Pats signed (R.B.) Fred Taylor as previously posted/rumored and recently released Jets (T.E.) Chris Baker as a back-up. They also resigned (G) Hochstein and (S) Sanders. The Jets signed Bart Scott from the Ravens for a lot of money for an inside L.B. other than that they have cut many (D.B.'s) resigned a few and the rest of the team has been declared a free agent....Again WTF???? Denver signs: Correll Buckhalter (RB) signed/unrestricted free agent (four-year contract). Brian Dawkins (S) signed/unrestricted free agent (five-year contract). Redskins release (DE) Jason Taylor
