I guess no one reviews the reviews on Amazon--- LMAO: 21 of 27 people found the following review helpful: 5.0 out of 5 stars Powerful read!, November 9, 2008 By active1x0 - See all my reviews Simply a gem; thank you Landolt and Bornstein!. Within a few years of buying this book, I had finally done enough research to make it through the first chapter. That same day, I was able to construct my own highly-stable supercritical water cooled nuclear reactor - a perfect Christmas present!

Can we have a sticky book thread......no, not that kind of sticky you pervs....

Anyway, I've recently read 3 Mil Millington books. Funny, though maybe funnier for Brits, his first book is biographical and based on this blog which is well worth a perusal.....

Also got into Christopher Moore. Finished Lamb about Biff the 13th disciple, very funny, but also well though out....and now reading Island of the Sequined Nun which is entertaining so far also.

I find more errors in paperbacks...

Not a book, although some damn fine writing on a hilariously bitter blog:

Dennett's a guy I want to read but never got round to it yet, how is it? I think his 'faith in faith' quote/idea is very insightful.

It's interesting. Thougfh some parts to me seem a bit preachy.

Just finished "The World in Six Songs" by Daniel Levitin. About the role of evolution in music across cultures, especially in songs/lyrics. Interesting stuff - he's neuroscientist but was a professional musician and producer so he has both perspectives. His first book ]this is your brain on music' is good too. Just started 'the girl with the dragon tattoo' which has got a lot of positive reviews.

Just finished this today, and really enjoyed it. Nicely paced, with mystery, intrigue and plot twists but without losing believability, and really well written characters.
