I left my tv on fox from the debate last night and turned it on when I got home. I just saw an ad from Clinton running on fox. Think Trump is running ads on MSNBC? If this wasn't a sign this race is over, I don't know what is.

I really thought Pence would drop out this weekend. A lot of people are talking about him for 2020, but the guy supported public dollars for gay conversion therapy. Can't the GOP get behind a sane, rational candidate any more?

Seriously, why would a McCain or Romney run against a primary of wack jobs looking for their newest book deal. We had 4-5 competent candidates in the primary and none of them got any traction. The DNC has Kerry and Schumer they can run in 2020 or 2024 should they have to. I can't think of a single GOP senator or governor that can run and excite people for 2020.

Kasich or bust for 2020.

All propaganda has to be popular and has to accommodate itself to the comprehension of the least intelligent of those whom it seeks to reach.

Glenn Beck:

Every person, each of us must decide what is a bridge too far.

Mike Lee has obviously reached that point, where the moral compromise his party is asking him to make is simply beyond what is acceptable.

It is not acceptable to ask a moral, dignified man to cast his vote to help elect an immoral man who is absent decency or dignity.

If the consequence of standing against Trump and for principles is indeed the election of Hillary Clinton, so be it. At least it is a moral, ethical choice.

If she is elected, the world does not end…. Once elected, Hillary can be fought. Her tactics are blatant and juvenile, and battling her by means of political and procedural maneuvering or through the media , through public marches and online articles, all of that will be moral, worthy of man of principal [sic].

Her nominees can be blocked, her proposed laws voted down.

The alternative does not offer a moral person the same opportunity. If one helps to elect an immoral man to the highest office, then one is merely validating his immorality, lewdness, and depravity.

But it’s OK, at least it is not her! Right??

No.

Lee’s call for Trump to step down and withdraw from the race is respectful to him and to the process.

Trump stepping down does not guarantee a Clinton win, but it does guarantee that the Republican party still stands for something, still allows its members to maintain thier [sic] own self respect and that it still has a future.

Your thoughts include "Oh yeah, take it Monica!"?  :D

Yeah, that's nuts.  That's my governor, for ya!  Not to mention that his anti-gay RFRA law was widely panned by the business community.  You can be a social conservative and win, but not if you lose the economic conservatives.

Ironically, the alliance of the traditional small government Republican with social conservatives feels like a deal with the devil.  The latter has come to dominate so much of the party's politics, though overshadowed by the Tea Party in recent years.  I feel like smart, articulate conservatives just aren't in our politics anymore, and that's a bad thing.  Despite my disagreements with them, I would like the opposition to be competent, because they will win eventually.  I don't want them to win and believe it's because God wanted them to be President, or that hurricane Matthew was because the Supreme Court overturned the Defense of Marriage Act.  That shit makes us all dumber and this is a great country that deserves great leaders.

Obviously I'm not talking about porno lines, but I do disagree with the GOP narrative that Clinton somehow wronged these women.  It's not as if they met in a bar and had no idea who Bill Clinton was.  These women slept with him because he was Bill Clinton and the Governor or President.  Women like powerful men, I know that's a shock to everyone.  Howard Stern told a great story about how after he got divorced, he was slaying it.  He initially felt guilty taking "advantage" of these women, but realized they were taking just as much of advantage of him.  They were sleeping with him because he's Howard Stern, not because they thought he was incredibly attractive.  Some people may not agree with casual sex, but everyone is free to live their lives how they see fit.  Monica Lewinsky was unfortunate because in the leaked audio it's apparent how much she's in love with Bill, but no one in their right mind would enter into a relationship with him and assume he's going to leave Hillary and enter into a relationship with a nobody.

The leaks of Hillary's emails are giving me confidence in my decision to vote for her. While the intended effect is to show how two faced she is, it shows me she realizes most people are fucking idiots and only tells them what they want to hear. The leak about her knowing a $15 minimum wage would ravage jobs. The leak of her plan to combat Isis - not glamorous, but realistic.

She recognizes how to keep America on top.

You know, you're not the only person I've read saying this. Many online said similar things, mostly that they felt she was strong in her resolve after reading the leaks. Others said they weren't that crazy about her, but felt the emails gave them more insight into who she was and how she would govern. It actually made them more comfortable.

I've had the leaks open for a few days on my computer, just haven't gotten around the reading them yet.

I find reading the leaks a bit confusing from a formatting perspective, particularly in light of the Blumenthal fiasco.

A new Utah poll came out with Hillary and the Donald tied-reported today by the Deseret News. Now I had wondered about this. The Mormons are a little different than the evangelicals. They have really been turned off by Trump (while evangelicals took a long time to sour), and every hot shot Republican up there has now denounced him, as has the LDS church, and the SLC Trib endorsed Hillary.

I really do wonder if it could flip in this election. Would be insane if it did.

Yes it's just one poll, but they don't do a lot of polls on deep red (or blue) states like that.

As the Trump campaign winds down it's staring to remind me of that last 5 minutes of Scarface. Lots of sniffing, the whole world is crashing in around him, and despite being shot several times he continues to scream crazy shit.
