haha, major LOL on that manatee. ^^

I enjoyed the film and would like to see it again fairly soon. I also realize how spoiled I am by binge watching these days, as I'd like to just start watching 8 tonight. Apparently I have to wait 18+ months if I had to guess.

I think JJ played it safe, and transitioned characters nicely. There wasn't much wiggle room in either direction, and he did it well IMO. I tried watching the prequels with the kids when they were young, and they always put me to sleep (literally Zzzzzzz....)

I'd give it 4/5. A good addition to the franchise.

I so hope they wrote that lead character as if she is the daughter of Alien's Ripley and Snake Plisken.

I think I'm actually more excited to watch Deadpool again from the comfort of my own living room than Episode VII.

I'm just not excited about this.  I'll probably go see it, but I'm cautious of them making too many films to dilute the franchise.

^ It will be a video game movie. Back in the early 90s there was the Star Wars Dark Forces first person shooter PC game that covered a rebel spy stealing the death star plans.

There are a lot of years between "Luke is born" and "Luke fucks up the Death Star"...and presumably a similar number of years between "Luke n' friends fuck up another Death Star" and "Han Solo's kid is a bad guy".  And, as we know, it's in a GALAXY, far, far away.  There should be plenty of room in a galaxy for some good stories.

In other words, I'll take all the Star Wars I can get.

I hope they borrow the best ideas from all those books and games that came out that have been deemed to not have happened.

I love that it begins "The Obama Presidency has brought us a world on fire".  That's like saying "The Roosevelt Presidency brought us the Great Depression" or "The Nixon Presidency brought us the Kennedy assassination".  My favorite was when Giuliani said "We had no domestic [terror] attacks under Bush".

Getting George Lucas to sell to Disney makes up for all that.
