He has an abysmal approval rating, and he'll still win.

Don't be so sure. I think the race will be tight. Grimes was giving him a run for his money in 2014. She was only 3 or 4 points behind, then he painted her as anti-coal and won by 9 points. This time, he is the one being painted. There have been a group of miners that have been protesting since the company went belly up and they weren't paid their last paycheck. McConnell blocked legislation to get them paid, and it has been played heavily here in the media. By law, coal companies are supposed to post bonds to guarantee miners get paid. This one didn't.

Also, the Moscow Mitch thing- it appears that he(his PAC) has taken money from Russian oligarchs, relaxed sanctions on the same Russkies so they could build an aluminum plant in Boyd County, and now the deal fell through. Even conservatives, here, are pissed that he appears to support Russians while shitting on miners.

Also, Jones filed with the Federal Election Commission this week to form an exploratory committee. He is wildly popular across the state(he's a centrist with progressive tendencies), and many conservatives have voiced their support if he runs. He'll probably defeat McGrath easily in the primary even though she has the backing of the DNC. A debate between Jones and McConnell would be a blood bath. The dude's very intelligent, wide read, and has an instinct for politics. I hope he runs. His talent is being wasted on the radio(and his former TV show- he was fired for being political from the show he created).

Cannot imagine a scenario where a state with U.S. Senate Majority leader would vote them out of office barring some beyond the pale scandal.

How soon we forget about Tom Daschle.

In an AARP poll, McGrath is trailing McConnell by 1 point(46% to 47%), and more telling is that by a 2 to 1 margin Kentucky voters think someone new should have his seat. Also telling is the numbers for would consider, or would not consider voting for each candidate: McConnell is 48% would consider/48% would not consider, while McGrath is 43% would consider/34% would not consider.

He is in trouble.

I would LOVE to see him go down, and may donate money for the first time in politics this year, to numerous candidates.

Barring any unforeseen mishaps, I think he will be defeated this time around. There are already lots of campaign adds broadcast across the state from PACS affiliated with both the DNC and the GOP. The adds are portraying McGrath as a radical leftist(someone got a video of her claiming that she is "the most liberal person in the state of Kentucky") aligned with AOC, Pelosi, and Hillary(no shit! Hillary), but it isn't working as her numbers continue to climb.

I think what the GOP has forgotten is that the coalfields in the western and eastern part of the state have historically been very liberal, and Democratic, probably due to it's strong labor unions. They will support anyone that supports coal. Now, they are recognizing that the industry is dead( all the easy to extract coal, oil, and gas is gone), and Republicans have just been paying lip service.

Kentucky has its state elections in off-years(they are this November), and another hint of change is that our current rightwing Trump supporting shit stain of a governor is 8 points behind the Democratic challenger who happens to be the son of the guy that held the office just before said shit stain. They are painting him as a radical leftist, too(Clinton, OAC, Pelosi, socialism, ect). What they don't seem to realized is that most Kentuckians love Obamacare. It was a model(Kyconnect) that was praised when it was implemented and Bevin dismantled it as best he could... pissed a lot of people off.

Trump, Russia Today, Tucker, swarms of Russian bots, and various alt right personalities leaped to her defence. Weird, right. She's Russia and the alt right's favorite democrat.

Gabbard comes from a family of conservative activists

Gabbard has said her personal views on LGBT equality haven't changed as recently as 2015

Gabbard is rated "F" by Progressive Punch for voting with Republicans, despite the strong progressive lean of her district

Gabbard was nearly a part of Trump's cabinet at Steve bannon's suggestion

Gabbard has also been praised multiple times by Steve Bannon

Gabbard declined to join 169 Democrats in condemning Trump for appointing Steve Bannon to his cabinet:

Gabbard isn't anti-war. She's a self-described hawk against terrorists. Her narrow objections center around efforts to spread democracy: "In short, when it comes to the war against terrorists, I'm a hawk," Gabbard said. "When it comes to counterproductive wars of regime change, I'm a dove."

Gabbard copies the rhetoric of Republicans: Gabbard voted against condemning Bashar al-Assad, president of Syria, and was praised by conservative media for publicly challenging President Barack Obama over his refusal to use the term "Islamic extremism" when discussing terrorism

Gabbard also copies the policy of Republicans, voting with them to block Syrian refugees

Gabbard has multiple connections to Hindu nationalists

Gabbard frequently repeats Russian talking points and works to legitimize Assad

Gabbard was one of only 3 representatives to not condemn Assad for gassing Syrian civilians and the only Democra

Gabbard has introduced legislation pushed by GOP-megadonor, Sheldon AdelsonTulsi was later awarded a "Champions of Freedom" medal at Adelson's annual gala in 2016

.

Gabbard was born into a cult called the Science of Identity.

Senator Mazie Hirono from Hawaii did not endorse Tulsi's 2020 bid due to concerns of Tulsi's lack of a progressive record.

Pulled from Reddit; didn't include the links.

She has problems, and is probably only a Democrat because she knows her district would never elect a Republican.

Finally, Fuck her!
